A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Jul 06 2026

In some ways, this album feels noisy, but I also think that is on purpose. I think the moments of chaos are intended to ring out the passion in the music. Impressive ability to follow along and play with the different time signatures. Although its just instrumental for the most part, the drum and bass carries everything along and almost makes me want to dance. Definitely felt pt.2 in my body, beautiful work. The music is intense and passionate but could see it being stressful for a listener which is why I gave 4/5 stars.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Jul 07 2026

Such a fun and funky album. Gin and Juice is such a classic. The bass riffs literally carry the tone of each song; it's wild how much a small repeated riff CARRIES. This use of cartoon-like adlibs reminds me a lot of MF DOOM (wonder if this album inspired some of his work at all).

Nowhere by Ride
Jul 08 2026

I wish I would have found this album in high school. Love the soft/heavy combination of all the songs. Good stuff

1999 by Prince
Jul 09 2026

The intro to this album says it all HAVE SOME FUN. Kind of funny how the first song highlighted the idea that everyone thought year 2000 was the end or whatever. So many bangers on this album. I feel like the synch and sound effects in this album is so impressive for its time. Loved this album. I almost want to put 3 stars bc the bangers were all in the beginning so it feels like the album died out but dang the music/singing is incredible in the other songs too and i cant discredit that just because I am not familiar with the songs.

Van Halen by Van Halen

dah bi gah

The Predator by Ice Cube
Jul 22 2026

I think theres way too many songs on the album and they are all so similar, except today was a god day. which was gold. I do appreciate being able to right lyrics and putting it out there. But really the only song that made me be like "wow" was today was a good day. They rest is good listening tunes though but nothing earth shattering imo.
