Very dynamic and captivating. Feels like you’re there live. Some VERY poorly aged lyrics about controlling your partner. Everything blends and flows incredibly well for a live recording. Musically brilliant, top level blues guitar and expressive vocals

The most beautifully overblown and dramatic album ever. Huge, soaring arrangements, flamboyant style and endless layered vocals. The arrangements are genuinely incredible, and the skill of the band is clearly on display the whole way through. It achieves everything it sets out to do, it’s grand, it’s flashy and it’s one of the greatest albums of all time.

Very good album. An admirably ambitious and well done theme, though some tracks around the mid point slog a bit. The sequencing makes up for weaker tracks, by staying dynamic and intentional throughout. Highlight is month of may. It’s a very very high 4, but I prefer funeral by a margin, so I can’t quite give it a perfect score

Great new wave record, and an incredible debut. The whole album is just fun. There’s a good amount of radio singles, but still some cool artistic experimentation. A defining album and a strong 4
