Murmur by R.E.M.
Aug 04 2026

It was ok, enjoyable sound but nothing particularly stuck out. May revisit later.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Aug 05 2026

Really lovely, great harmonica sounds and Nelson’s voice is absolutely gorgeous. Bandera was honestly a standout. Might not listen again since not my usual jam but was pleasantly surprised!

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Aug 06 2026

So so so good. Album that got me into hip-hop.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Aug 09 2026

Fantastic fantastic fantastic. Was absolutely shocked with how amazing this was. I only really knew deep purple for smoke on the water and highway star but this was truly a no skip album. Favorite song: Highway Star Least Favorite (but still liked): Space Truckin’

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Aug 10 2026

It was ok, the Byrds aren’t my favorite sound but definitely a pleasant listen. Might revisit in the future…

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Aug 11 2026

Good, quite fantastic as background music

Aug 12 2026

Not great. Would constantly fluctuate between “wow this is somewhat interesting” and “wow this is so annoying.” Overall felt really directionless and even the interesting moments weren’t stunning. I would probably rate this a 1.4/5 but cannot, so I will give it a 1. Favorite song: Once it Was Alright Now

Aug 13 2026

It was ok. Gave me big “Parachutes” vibes without the spark that made early Coldplay so special. Maybe it was just the extensive use of echo + ✨British✨Still wasn’t an unpleasant listening experience but served better as passive than active listening. Favorite song: Grounds for Divorce

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Aug 14 2026

It was honestly less enjoyable than I expected. I knew Get Free and absolutely love the Hives so I expected to like this album a similar amount. However, I found a lot of it to be pretty nonmemorable. Might be worth a revisit at some point but I might just stick to The Hives in the future… Favorite song: Get Free

Low by David Bowie
Aug 15 2026

There are three kinds of albums I get through this project: the ones that I knew already and (usually) already liked, the ones I had never heard of and thought were mediocre, and the secret gems. It is this third kind that makes this project worth doing and returning to. While perhaps not so secret generally, Low was an entirely new album to me, and….wow. It’s haunting. It’s interesting. It’s experimental in the best way. While I don’t think it beats Ziggy Stardust (yet), it certainly comes quite close. One that will definitely enter my usual rotation. Favorite Tracks: Always Crashing in the Same Car, Sound and Vision, Speed of Life, Subterraneans

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Aug 16 2026

Really fantastic. The lyrics were often quite beautiful and poetic and the whole vibe of the album sucked me in and made me feel like I was sitting next to a campfire. My one gripe is that I found all the songs on the album to blend into each other and become quite homogenous. Definitely one worth returning to. Favorite Tracks: All I Want, Blue, California

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Aug 17 2026
Aug 18 2026

Incredible! Funny, Zany, Weird, and Absolutely Beautiful. Of course I know and love Bohemian Rhapsody but this album goes so deeper and becomes such a lovely listen. Would love to check it out again! Favorite Tracks: Bohemian Rhapsody, Prophet’s Song, ‘39
