Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Aug 06 2026

All based on 2 listens. Better than I thought it would be, but still has that generic, repetitive phrasing AC/DC sound. I will be adding this to my listening rotation.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Aug 10 2026

Would listen to this again. But it's not quite up there in both quality and my style. But definitely better than average.

Aug 11 2026

I listened to this album a long time ago and didn't like it then. It's a bit better now but still not good. Great instrumentation and the vocalist puts his lyrics together in a creative way at times, but ultimately the singer's voice is something I just cannot do. His limited range as well as high treble, nasally pitch is completely off putting and forgettable. Even "I Bet You Look Good..." the "hit" I remember the first time around is a completely forgettable song and don't understand how it got popular. 1.5 stars

Low by David Bowie
Aug 14 2026

Definitely different, but trying to put it perspective of it's time However, it mostly instrumentals and "jam" sounding at that. This isn't selling me on Bowe. But there could be more there after repeat listens or other albums.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Aug 18 2026

Pretty good overall but at the same time nothing super memorable. I kept thinking this was the Violent Femmes for some reason, but these are the "She Don't Use Jelly Guys." Either way, a cool atmospheric, mid to low tempo album that I wouldn't mind listening to again, but not one I would add to the rotation.

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
Aug 19 2026

1 = Turn it off, 2 = Will listen to it but prefer something else, 3 = Fine with it being played 4 = Adding it to the rotation 5 = We're going deeper. This album was easy to listen to and had some good tracks. Wouldn't mind revisiting it now and again, but not good enough to add it to my library.

Blood And Chocolate by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Aug 20 2026

1 = Turn it off, 2 = Will listen to it but prefer something else, 3 = Fine with it being played 4 = Adding it to the rotation 5 = We're going deeper. Right on the border of a 3 and a 4. some good tracks and Elvis' voice grew on me. Ultimately though, I don't think I'd add it to my rotation. 3.5 stars

The Colour Of Spring by Talk Talk
Aug 28 2026

Yeah, no. I'm sure this is a beloved album, but it was too repetitive musically and the monotone singing with the thick reverb was not good. Wasn't bad enough to want to turn it off or never hear again, but close. 1.5 stars.
