Beautiful atmosphere established in the intro Tonight tonight is one of the greatest songs ever made Wow abrupt switch into the next track, fw the energetic drums and guitar Zero is so damn grimy i love it, that hook(?) is so infectious and always feels so cool to sing I like billys whinyness in this song, not much else to say lol. Ooo solo rips DESPITE ALL MY RAGE I AM STILL JUST A RAT IN A CAGEEEE. Had to turn my headphones up. The beating march of the drums leading up to the chorus is an underrated part of this song Slowing it back down again. He really can do the soft and heavy vocals both so naturally. Not as much of a fan of this one tho, feels a bit filler Ok right back to it. Fastest song so far i think. Another energetic banger. Nasty ass solo Interesting use of distortion on the vocals on this song, unsure how i feel abt it. Does help change up the sound a little This is a better example of a softer song imo. The harp is so peaceful Love this sm. Even better feeling than the last one. The guitar tone and synths combined with the beat on the ride create such a soothing atmosphere. Great climax too Again, whiny corgan is hard to beat. Great mix of energy and softness. I get lost in tge guitar 9+ minute song this should be good. Slow buildup doing its job rn. Wow i was not expecting that drop but i am pleased. Ok potential to be one of my favorites. Already 5 minutes in and I’m far from exhausted. I love how layered this sounds. Man the switch between this more somber ballad sound and heavy rock sections keep this song such an interesting listen. Not once in this almost 10 minute song did I feel bored or like i needed to go to the next song Ok this is definitely the most subdued song I’ve heard from them. Not that I don’t like it, i do, but this feels more like a transition from disk 1 to 2 Alright onto disk 2. The guitars at the start of this song feel like they’re talking from my left ear to my right and my brain is in the middle just absorbing their conversation Felt like i just changed the channel onto an old show that I forgot about but loved. Love is suicide. What is this caressing my ears rn🥹. Might be the best singing I’ve heard on this album. The piano compliments his voice really well. What a beautiful and motivational song Cool little acoustic song. I like it, but probably the weakest on this side so far Classic. Youll be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t like this song. Can’t even a Say too much, just that it never gets old no matter how many times I’ve heard it Wow another big vibe switch. Back to the distorted vocals, although this time a lot more grating. The first song on the album id really say i didn’t like Another longer song. Liking this a lot more than the last track. Nothing too specific on this, just that it sounds great. Didn’t take me on the same journey as the other long song but it didn’t have to The fillerest of filler Ok great energy pick up. Banger but I am starting to get a little worn on this sound. Hope they’re able to find a way to keep it fresh in the final stretch of the album. Damn i didn’t even realize how long this song was. Right when I thought it was about to end there was another 2 minutes left, so it does kinda overstay its welcome a little bit Went from wtf is this to huh ok ill give it a chance. Ok back to wtf. I feel like there was a little bit of potential but they just did nothing with the song. At least it’s a different sound Oh fuck another weird one. Already not feeling it. It feels like their rendition of a children’s love song. Ok it’s kinda pulling me in a little halfway through but it may be too little too late Nope this one isn’t for me either. Feels like they heard my complaint about the sameyness and pivoted way too hard away from the sound that made the rest of the album so great. Im hoping these last 2 tracks end the album stronger than this stretch has been Ok another slower love song but this one feels a lot more natural in their style. I really like the bass on this song. Really sweet song and helps get this album back on track right at the end Decent closer. I mean i get the vibe they were going for with the emotional ballad to wrap up the album but i think the last song would’ve been a much better outro while still holding onto that same emotion they were going for Overall even though it kinda fell off towards the end, the majority of the album was able to keep me engaged to the point where the extended runtime was almost warranted. If they had cut it down to like 1hr 15min to 1hr 30min i think it would’ve been perfect. Solid 8.5 tho still

Ok ive listened to this album already but ill try and give thoughts anyways definition of a hard ass funky rock song. fleas bass on here is so groovy i love it one of my favorites on this album. the constant plucks of guitar and bass sound so good on here classic rhcp song, so fun to sing along to. just feels good to listen to another classic. no shortage of those on this album. one of my favorite chili pepper hooks hard punk-esque vives on this one, reminds me a lot of aeroplane. flea carries a lot of these kind of tracks its like every other song is a classic on here. quintessential california anthem here. dreaming of californication. underrated solo, does exactly what its supposed to love the way anthony extends his voice on here. hes saying some bullshit but when isnt he one of the slower chili pepper songs, borders on not doing enough to stay interesting but its not very long and anthonys voice sounds nice dude what are you even talking about. its got good energy tho so its cool. ive realized this is the formula for a lot of their songs but they sound good enough to get away with it idc ok ik what i just said, but this is a little too bullshit for me maybe my favorite song on this album. the bassline is just so smooth it makes my ears happy. and the little accents frusciante adds in just put it over the top lot of extended vocals on this one. i like the drum fills. wow complete change in vibes. are those jingle bells? ok were back now ig. the back and forth is a bit jarring but ive heard bigger switchups shoutout purple. but not vibing with johns staccato flow on this one. i like this instrumental breakdown towards the end tho. chads going offf i forgot how quickly they get right into it wow. easily the most energetic song on the album. funny how they put this right next to one of the softest songs you dont get fully acoustic songs like this all that often in their discog, but this is possibly the best rendition of it from them. top 3 on the album for me and a great outro this album can be a little messy at times but overall theres more good moments than bad. would probably be around a 7.5 if it werent for the sheer amount of classics on here, so i gotta bump it up to an 8 for that

Fully new album im excited not the sound i was expecting only really knowing them from song 2, but im here for it. very very britpop. i love the groove they caught on here. its a little weird but just enough weird to catch the ear theyre so british its a little funny. i like the pop of the snare banging. wow even this guitar sounds british somehow oh i like this, the guitar hits right. damon you may be british but your voice is still beautiful. trumpet accent is chefs kiss man i dont wanna comment on the britishness on every song but they make it so hard. not usually that big a fan of spoken word sections in music but i dont mind it mmm idk. a little too punk a little bit not enough singing nice little folk rockish vibes. nice vocals. nice backing vocals. nice little solo. just overall nice little song cool instrumental piece, nothing more than an interlude tho not an instrumental, but still kinda feels like another interlude. weird to put this right after the last track nice laidback song, really allows damons voice to shine at its peaks. a little overrated but it still sounds good they had to come back and remind us once again that they are, in fact, british a little less on the spoken word here, but it helps to have those classic 90s backing instrumentals behind it is that a harp being played? some kind of guitar? whatever it is sounds really cool and i love how unique it sounds on a song like this a lot of different things happening rn, but it kinda comes together? i wonder if this was being called experimental at the time i was about to say their britishness wasnt as distracting here until he says rubbish and then i remembered. great rock song tho, one of the better of this sound on the album i just love when a rock band is able to do a really great acousting song, it just hits different for whatever reason. also makes the electric guitar hit even harder when the solo comes in great close out song (not counting the outro track) fun outro, not necessary but not unnecessary overall thoughts, at times this album was a little too british for its own good, but in a way that added to the charm of it and helped in to not get boring. not really any song on here i would consider bad and only a couple id say are mediocre, but most of the songs were good and a few great ones too. id give it a 7.5

ok i did listen to this already but i was snowboarding so i couldnt pay too much attention i love you daniel of steel. starting the album with the classic that is do it again. theres so much going on in these instrumentals but it comes together to sound so simple. they strung together like 3 solos and you hardly even notice because it just sounds natural. thats what they do best, create a vibe back to back classics. such nice vocals on here, especially the harmonies on the chorus. sax solo makes me wish i knew the saxiphone just so i can play this song great great great. its just that steely sound they do so well. it feels like theyre trying to fit in a solo for as many instruments as possible on this album god i love some good piano rock. a steely dan vocal harmony can cure most known ailments. pretty much every chorus this guy sings can make me smile. oh and here comes the classic guitar solo. they really perfected what they did another classic. when i hear the phrase yacht rock, this is exactly what i hear. no one else even comes close to replicating the pure level of vibes that this band can create so many classics fit into such a concise album. perhaps their biggest song of all time, theres definitely a reason it got as massive as it did. solo time yay. sleeper pick for one of the most iconic guitar solos of all time. they really have such a knack for melodies its like a superpower a little bit of a lotta ragtime magic going on right now. damn it feels like any song on this album had the power to become a classic. and what a fitting song for our piano solo of the album. i think a good 30-40% of this album is just solos guitar tone is hella nice. i love the little accents of the mirracas and tamberine that keeps the song moving along. i feel like i gotta take the time on each track to just sit back and appreciate the solo i once asked them if they could tone down the vibes on a couple of songs every once in awhile because i was having too good of a time, but they told me that unfortunately it was impossible for them to do that its hard to believe how little steams this song has, considering the vibes have not dropped one bit. ending this album the same way it started, with lots of fun and feel-good energy i mentioned vibes and solos a whole lot during this review, but thats exactly how i would describe this album. vibes and solos. and no one is able to do that quite in the same way that steely dan can. this music has the ability to lift my mood almost anytime i hear it, and for that reason and just the insane hit ratio i gotta give this album a 9

first album by an artist i havent heard of before, should be interesting (ok he was part of the yardbirds, found that out later) solid start to the album, definitely skilled on each of their instruments. not a huge fan of this guys voice tho, i feel like it lacks distinction and that might be a problem going forward see im gonna have a hard time trying to find things to say about each song, because so far it isnt shaping up to sound all that different from song to song its cool, the band sounds great, yeah pretty much that your run of the mill blues song, nothing too special about it. the organs cool ig well, slowing it down a bit helps switch things up a little if nothing else ill give them that. unfortunately, that means the band cant carry as much so its still quite boring damn i was kinda excited to see an instrumental track actually because the instruments have been the best part of the music, but this is just an acoustic rendition of that old folk song (which i didnt know the name of before) back to that same jazz rock sound of before, nice solo tho yes, finally! let the band shine! this is the kind of creativity i was looking for in the last instrumental track. easily the best song on the album. sorry beck, but your band has outshone you this whole time 7 and a half minute blues song............................ ok im liking this a lot more than any the other songs with vocals on the album. maybe its just refreshing to hear a pick up in energy after the last song, but id go to say i actually like this song overall the band really carried a lot more weight on here than beck did. it just felt like he didnt really add anything on this album that made it feel unique from anything else in this genre. maybe its just the nature of blues music, but i just cant really get behind the idea of sitting down for 10+ songs of the exact same structure. great to hear live tho. but im gonna have to give jeff a 6 for this album

ok adele time. this will be my second full album from her god this song was everywhere back when it released. it was to the point i started getting a bit sick of it unfortunately. no denying that its a great song however. that woman knows how to belt with ease oh damn i lowkey forgot about this song. she really is pretty much unrivaled in this era. her and bruno mars you can just expect 3-5 mega hits every album very dramatic song. i really like what the drums are doing in this song. really help elevate her voice (as if it needs any elevating) its crazy how adele is able turn these deeply emotional power ballads into such big hits. that being said, this might be my favorite of her hits. her voice just carries so much emotion no shade intended. but sometimes i need a little bit of a break from the piano. its hard to dismiss it tho when her voice is so grand kinda forgot about this one too. im telling you shes such a sneaky superstar. you dont often think about how many hits she has, probably bc she puts out her music then just puts her head down for a few years until her next album this is the kind of pop soul im not the biggest fan of... oh man this song just hits in a different way. maybe her best hook, she just puts her whole heart into that chorus and it sinks deep into you not piano, but has the same effect as i mentioned before of just being a bit too much of this song. i find it hard to meaningfully criticize adele songs because her singing is obviously the main focus, but i often find it can be a bit too much of the focus that it can feel like theres just not enough going on to keep me coming back the way she can pour her heart and soul out onto every single song is second to none. its really no wonder she'll take like 5 years between albums i wish there were a couple more of these songs on the album. not because i think theyre the best, but they just help break up the sound a bit. i think she is at her best when shes on stripped back production, but piano ballad after piano ballad does get taxing after awhile adeles music isnt the kind that i often find myself revisiting, but its impossible to deny her talent. even though im not listening to this kind of music in my day to day, i still enjoy hearing her music every once in awhile. its hard not to feel something while listening to some of these songs. because of the iconic hits and undeniable skill and talent, i have to give this at least a 7.5

first country album of the list, lets do it country is one of few genres i actually sounds better as a singer ages. johnny sounds good as ever in his old age, in both his talking and singing voice. it feels like your grandpa sitting you down and telling you an old story of his youth the first of many covers on this album, and perhaps the best and most iconic example of a cover surpassing the original. it feels like this song was just meant for cash's voice. the gruff yet emotional tone of his singing just add a whole new layer to this song another original song. even though this album came out in 2002, this song (like many others on here) have such an old timey feel its hard to believe it wasnt released in the 50s. goes to show you how timeless his music is another cover, this time of the iconic simon and garfunkel song, bridge over troubled water. this song works so great in cash's style, its a very natural adaptation. fiona apple also provides some beautiful backing vocals on here the second sting cover of this album, and yet again i think this version is better than the original. cash is such a great storyteller, he just paints the picture so well you can pretty much envision the tale scene by scene great rendition of another iconic song. i appreciate the subtle minimalistic approach, really allows each line to sit with you a song that i originally wouldnt have envisioned him making a cover of, but johnny does an adequate job at making it his own. i wouldnt say it fully lives up to the original, but it doesnt do it an injustice. also cool that he got john fruscante and mike campbell (of rhcp and the heartbreakers, respectively) on guitars the classic beatles song translates pretty well into johnnys style. maybe its just not different enough from the original, but i dont feel he captured the same emotion that john and ringo did in their song sam hall is a traditional english folk tune that has had many renditions through the years, one of the most iconic actually being from johnny cash much earlier in his career. like i said earlier, im a sucker for a more seasoned voice in a country song, so i slightly prefer this rerecording another traditional folk song that has had many iconic renditions over the past century, one most notably from judy garland. cash also has a version of this song that he released in 1965. his voice sounds very nice on this, but i gotta say i enjoy the subtle old western country vibe he has going on his older version desparado is one of my favorite eagles songs of all time. for that reason, it was going to be a near impossible task to try and top it. that being said, he still does the song justice, and the fact that he actually got don henley to sing backup on part of the song is a testament to that im so lonesome i could cry is a song originally recorded by another country legend, hank williams. for this album, johnny cash teams up with the legendary frontman nick cave where they trade verses before coming together for the last verse. i love how well their voices compliment each other yet another cover where if i hadnt known better i would assume was an original. johnny cash man you sure know how to sing a cover streets of laredo was a traditional folk tune that was eventually adapted into an old western that has been covered by many a such country artist, such as marty robbins, willie nelson, and once again a younger johnny cash. although this time i think id say he did it better 40 years prior being the closing track on his final album before passing the next year, this beautiful rendition essentially acts as a capstone to the man's almost 50 years of writing and performing. and i cant think of a better farewell to one of the greatest careers in music history. rest in peace johnny cash even though this album is comprised mostly of covers, i didnt find any lack of identity from cash. even if he didnt fully rework a song, cash added his own (sometimes subtle) flare that made each song his own. when i hear someone say thatcountry music is bad, i assume they just havent heard very much johnny cash yet. great album, giving it an 8

havent heard of this artist before dont know what to expect some immediate hip hop influence to start off the album. very unique production, but the flow doesnt do much for me fw this bassline, again though they arent really doing anything unique with their flow. also not a lot going on in the lyricism department im gonna sound like a broken record this whole review, but hip hop is one of those genres for me where if one element isnt clicking i just cant get past it. there just isnt enough variation for me to have much else to say i feel like this one couldve been good if there was more effort and inflection put in. its still decent for what it is i guess i aint got em if theres anything i can give this song, its that its at least giving a bit more effort than the previous ones. unfortunately, its still not quite enough to push it over the edge very chill beat, i appreciate it. the only thing really keeping this album somewhat afloat for me has been the live instrumentation which has been decently nice i think i just realized what the problem on all these songs has been. hes trying to do a snoop dogg thing with his rapping, except hes missing the iconic voice. which is why its like i can see what hes going for but it isnt quite working i quite like the beat going on here, then its immediately ruined by his attempt at singing. if this is what it sounds like for him to put in a decent amount of effort, maybe he should stick to barely rapping this is by far the most effort ive heard on the entire album. and subsequently its probably the most tuned in ive been the whole album. not saying i necessarily love it, but it at least moves me a bit im getting tired of trying to think of new ways to say the same thing, you know what i think by now eh im almost completely tuned out by this point. outro has the least energy on this whole thing. at this point im just waiting for it to be over so i dont have to say anything else overall i get what they were trying to go for on this album, but they just fell short in the rapping department. rap rock is very hit or miss in general, and i feel like for me the times where it really hits requires a lot of energy put into it and/or some more substantial messaging. this album did neither of that. the albums saving grace comes in the production. if nothing else, this could be a good album to just throw on in the background as it does have some good instrumentation going on. for that reason, i can still give this a 5

who the hell is this guy reminds me of the beatles american version. idk if thats a good or bad thing yet. for now he just gotta get somewhere ok i am starting to like this, just took a little bit. it has a nice melody going a little bit of blues vibes going on here, which means its bound to be at least a little repetitive. doesnt do too much to turn me on but it also doesnt do too much to turn me off. interlude esque some slight beach boys vibes, especially when the harmonies come in. i like it. they seem to wear some of their influences on their sleeves another blues type song, but a more ragtime direction this time. i like the vocal effects used on here, keeps things interesting even when he isnt saying much. his voice basically acts as an instrument on this song really powerful performance, Nilsson put his all into his singing and it hits in just the right way. love this song she put the lime in thee coconut bro thinks he the cars😭 nah but this is a good song, catchy and has a nice groove. killer harmonica solo too another song thats repetetive in its lyrics but man this song rocks. i love the gradual build up across the 7 minute runtime. i love the several solos placed through the song, they kind of act as spacers to keep the song fresh the whole time. definitely my favorite song on the album interesting album closer, very dramatic and some unique instruments being played. doesnt quite sound like anything else one here (in a good way) this album is a short and sweet album that does a good job at not taking itself too seriously. Nilsson was able to add in enough variety to keep this album fresh, and while i didnt love every song i did enjoy the album as a whole more than i was expecting to. im giving this a solid 7
