1001 Albums Summary

Very accessible, very dramatic, very reflective songwriting. Some songs like "On The Run" are low points and gives the album a weaker start, but as a concept album and with each song often flowing into the next, the album always keeps you on the edge. The buildup and resolution all executed very well. Some melodies are overused but it doesn't take away from how great the album is in the end.

This album is very atmospheric and surreal. Some parts that are too experimental or just aren't interesting to listen like the self-titled track bring it down a little and the peaks of the album don't peak high enough for me. They are there, but there aren't enough. It's consistently meh until the best songs arrive.

I loved the arrangements and level of detail. The melodies were great and his voice is versatile. Hard to find flaws. I didn't like how it was a little too mellow sometimes and it felt too much like a theater performance at times. which isn't my thing. otherwise great album
