Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Sep 19 2026

GREAT SONGS: Drugs, Life During Wartime, I Zimbra, Memories Can't Wait, Animals

Sep 20 2026

39, The Prophet's Song and okay - THAT song (basically: how to do good to sound I may like but not adore)

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Sep 21 2026

Quite bland and vapid; though I can hear what new wave and post-punk will become, seeing the seeds is not enough to enjoy something quite dull ('Psycho Killer' itself is meh compared to what they'll play, in terms of catchiness and neurotic earworms.)

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Sep 22 2026

- Don't Forget About Me - - Son of a Preacher Man -

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Sep 23 2026

Comfort danceable hard horny blues and sunny ballads, in the hands of master performers clearly having fun = YES. Not the apex of what Led Zep'll do - I'm a plain IV lover- but a delight from the start to the end, from the sudden accelerations of 'The Lemon Song' to 'Thank You' bursting into light.

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Sep 24 2026

At first, it's overwhelming. Gaye talks, and croons, and falsetto-es and sings, and the instruments oftentimes play some flourishes, some lines going beyond mere arrangement, and it goes from doo-woop to ballad to funk and then back again, conversational and confessional and outright flooding, and it feels more like a single 2-LP track than a collection of songs. Which means it'll take time. Sure, one has to accept and like the way he takes the idea of restraint, chews it and spits it back.

Roger the Engineer by The Yardbirds
Sep 25 2026

I'd say it's still a bit green - rollicking blues-rn'r with some experimenting, and one great song in Happenings Ten Years Time Ago (Beck+Page!, and some great dissonance and mysterious mood)

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Sep 26 2026

I'll rave even for Four Women alone.

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman

Dare! by The Human League
Oct 01 2026
Pearl by Janis Joplin
Oct 02 2026

Not only is her voice thunder, but the backing band is so much groovy and creative! I love that her music is not just a vehicle for vocal, and they come off as stronger 'cause of the storm they are mingled in. Hell yeah!
