Surprising variety of songs and sounds on this album, often rowdy and edgy, sometimes even playful. Not quite my style, but the influence is undeniable and it was a fun listen.
Good album overall. The blues influence is really felt and the piano often steals the show. After an incredibly high, but early peak with Sympathy, the A side can feel a little dull, up until the amazing musical outro to Jigsaw Puzzle, leading into a stronger B side, starting with Street Fighting Man and riding a new high all the way to the end.
Listened to a few songs, got bored. Looked at the 54min runtime, gave up. I do not like Coldplay.
Not gonna pretend I completely understand bebop, but it was a fun listen ! Made me feel sophistated, wanting to drink red wine, smoke cigars and be scared of McCarthyism, all in black and white.
