Hot Fuss by The Killers
Oct 29 2026

I've heard this before, but I can't remember if I just listened to the hits or the whole thing. Let's see it^^ Damn, it's from 2004, what a time, GameCube era tunes. No wonder SSX had them included. Ok, I'm almost through, it was a ride, but it was also a little boring. I like the hits that I already know, it's got a nostalgic feeling, reminds me of a bunch of bands and stuff from that time. But ultimately, I guess Indie Rock-n-roll is not what I need rn (笑)

(Song 1) Omg, what a start! So confident, so determined, so exited to get started. My expectations are high, like the start of a movie I've been waiting to see. Not a fan of all mentions of women being either violent or misogynistic though ._. (song 5) Dang, it is a product of its time for better and worse, but there's no denying the musical talent and vibes. Let's see how much is storytelling and intentional and what's the patina of the past. It'll color my overall perception of the album and the sad and impressed feeling I sit with right now. (finished) Overall I enjoyed the album but not as much as I thought I would from the jump. The experience feels like many separate liquids that are just different enough in density that they don't blend into one thing. I find each performer adds their personality, and some come off better than others. The synths are timeless and the most consistent thing I enjoyed, well, the production in general. And on occasions, the separate parts mix into one cohesive awesome thing, before quickly separating again. I was happy to listen to this, and if I return, it'll be to cherry pick parts I enjoyed.

Well isn't this vibes? Incredibly playful but stylish, it's like rock meets disco and I like it more than I expected. Night by night is a banger. I'm getting Jojo's vibes from the final section of the album. It was a vibe, it had variety, perhaps a bit too American for my taste, but it's a pleasant listen from beginning to end, though a bit top heavy perhaps.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe

(song 1) Damn, adventurous vibe, reminds me of that Devin Townsend dude, likely because it's the only story based stuff I've really been listening to. (Song 4) Ok "Locked inside" is cool, how rare to have a disco RNB song with an actual message. (song 17) Amazing album! The spectrum of music felt like a fully realized universe with characters and stakes and connection relatable to the audience. Emotional and beautiful and exciting, loved it! I think I need to give the whole trilogy a full listen to best appreciate it and I look forward to doing so. Overall, the space age opera feeling and with of expressions musically feels like a more cohesive take on Doopee Time, which I mean in the best way. I will surely follow Janelle and what she makes in the future
