It's kind of light and full old-timey music, big-voiced male singer with lots of vibrato, very Sinatra-esque. Not realllly my thing but I like it alright! Good for expanding horizons.
The unplugged version of Come As You Are is... lowkey better than the original. Bass is very present and I enjoy that. I really think Kurt Cobain just kind of sounds constipated when he sings and it's not for me. Buuuut I think Nirvana is objectively good so I'm gonna give this one a fat three stars.
I feel like this one has a little bit of a darker tone than previous Beatles albums. I've heard all the songs on this before but never listened the whole way through the album, so this was interesting. Especially on "Fixing a Hole," you can kind of tell the Beatles were diverging from where they were at before. "A Day In The Life" = still my favorite Beatles song. Obviously this is one of the best albums of all time, I get a liiiiittle bored toward the middle so I'm gonna give it 4 stars.
Eleanor Rigby is sooooo good. Again, gets a bit weird and experimental. But like... it's the Beatles. Four stars.
I like the 80s synth poppy feel of it, sometimes weird percussion breaks and vocal interludes take up too much time, the synth is almost overwhelming sometimes too. But I liked it alright! not earth-shattering
Reminds me a lot of Joni Mitchell. Definitely something I want to listen to when I'm sad. Gets worse as it goes on, too much vibrato and volume increase in the upper register
It took me a minute to decide how I feel about this since it's so avant-garde and weird, but I decided I really like it. I think it's really well-done, and her voice is gorgeous. Venus as a Boy is really good, and I probably wouldn't listen to this toooo often but I'm gonna save it on Spotify. Four stars!!!
I admittedly don't like jazz, but the jazz influence on this album is sick. It also reminds me of Christmas music, a little bit. I think this one is kind of awesome, not something I'd listen to all the time but I'm gonna save it on Spotify for Christmas vibes. Omg, also a little Vulfpeck-ish! Another surprising four star album!!
This is like surf rock on crack, the guitar is a little dirty for me sometimes but WOW yeah this is what rock should sound like. Songs aren't particularly distinguishable from each other until Where is My Mind? though.
i feel like each song sounds pretty similar but this is like ultimate classic rock
I think there's a reason this never really gained popularity... Nyro is clearly talented vocally but her songwriting is just not that good and it sounds like show tunes, which is kind of insufferable. Really campy. I can't finish the album :/
It's really fuzzed-up, the guitar kind of rides over top of the vocals which makes it a little hard to listen intently to. Maybe I need to give it more of a shot without headphones, just pretty difficult to listen to.
Rumours can never be matched because it just holds your attention through the whole album in this really unique way that few albums can do, but Tusk is like the cooler older sibling to Rumours. More chilled out, more suave, easier listening. More diversity between tracks. I'm in love.
AGGRESSIVELY HORNY. Like, seriously. This guy is so horny. But it has this really fun, classic feel to it, and his British accent is really thick, which kind of adds to the fun.
Weird, experimental, kinda neat. I think it works. Wouldn't listen to it for enjoyment but it's kinda sick
Glad I'm finally listening to Voodoo Chile, because it's a masterpiece. Not entirely my vibe but I can appreciate that it's incredible music. Honestly, I do get kind of sick of listening to all that guitar, it's impressive but a lot. 3 stars but my personal opinion factors in heavily.
Forgettable rock. "The Concept" is pretty good and I'll listen to that again, but it's like four white boys making sloppy alt rock that's pretty indistinguishable. Vocals aren't really notable either. I'll give it a fat two.
So I guess Arcade Fire is art rock/indie rock, which explains why I like this album so much so far. It's exactly my vibe. I don't know if it's objectively amazing but subjectively, I like it very much.
Yeah. Good music. Overhyped, though. I'll give it a solid 3 stars, 3.5 if I could do half stars.
i didn't wanna listen to this lol im just gonna give it a two
This is beautiful! "A Man Needs a Maid" kinda sucks, but "Heart of Gold" is awesome and it's just kinda raw and emotional, love!
this was sick. obviously like one of the most talented guitarists of all time. it's a little much when it's a full album of it but i think it'd be a great kinda badass driving album
annoying crooner, i'm not going to finish this but i did like the title song
mysterious dark vibes but still sounds like The Cure(tm) as opposed to Pornography
this kinda goes hard wtf? british boyband rock but a little harder than the beatles and a little bit "drier" if that makes any sense, like someone wrung the beatles out and their hair got greasier and they stopped wearing matching suits. thats just the energy i'm getting i have no idea if this is actually what they look like. it's also giving me sing street/the cure energy. interesting. really like her actually. best described as "pirate rock" i think lmao

don't like this at all. I think it's lame. i'd give a more formal opinion but not really in the mood, i'm sure it's impressive but it kinda sucked in my subjective opinion
not my styleeeee but probably a good 3, can appreciate but dont like it
really cool vibes already, raspy main vocals and kind of ethereal indie rock feel. I LOVE THIS ALBUM BASED ON THE FIRST SONG. cool orchestral feeling. oooooo I love it!!! i don't think it objectively deserves more than a 3 so i'll give it that but i love her :,)
"Baroque pop," very heavily orchestrated with heavy instrumentals and just... HEAVY overall. Not my fav, and don't think it's objectively super well done either. 2.
I think this album is really well done — I've never really listened to blues before, and while it's certainly white people music, it's pretty funky and the harmonica + the beat create a really nice little sound. Again, it's not really my thing, but definitely deserves a 3.
Portishead is just SO sad. It's almost unbearable at times. Like when I need something really sad, I might come back to this, but it's not even peaceful to me, just sad. That said, it's very well done and I'm sure it deserves a 3.
I Zimbra whips, whole album reminds me of the other Talking Heads album I like but more jammy / maybe less innovative, still a great album
really moody, full voice with thinner instrumentals and just a powerhouse of a voice, kind of darker tone, i really like the way this feels to listen to... as in, i feel pretty Kool while listening to it
I think this album is really gorgeous. It's deceptively simple, but the chord structure is nearly always flawless. Reminds me of a bit grittier version of the Beatles. Banana album will always be my favorite, but this rocked.
At first I assumed this was a Country Album based on the everything about it, but I wouldn't classify it with frat-boy-blue-jeans-and-beer country. Williams has a pretty pronounced twang in her voice, but beyond that, her voice is light and airy and pretty beautiful imo. Still not my type of music and not very lyrically complex (compared to say, Dolly Parton) but I like it!
I didn't like this album very much. I wasn't expecting the Pixies to be so scream-y? but especially on the second track (Tame, I think?) it was a little much for me. "Here Comes Your Man" is surf-rock-y and definitely the best song on the album
The song "Hearts and Bones" is soooo romantic. Very crunchy-granola-meets-simon&garfunkel. Some of the songs are a little gimmicky, the math one and the one abt the brain come to mind. but the love songs are SO tender and sweet. well done
a nice crunchy little electronic album. reminds me of van morrison in the way they repeat everything and twist it till it's unrecognizable. lots of fun bug sounds, like bug wings almost? that's what it reminds me of. it requires a lot of investment to listen to it, but i like
