Love the mixing here. The vocals are unique and that guitar tone is to die for.
Remastered version? Danceable. The drums are super tight and everything on the high end is really well mixed and produced. Doesn't feel ground breaking but considering its age it's aged well.
Psychedelic synth porn got me drooling omg. The basslines are varied both in melody and in tone with some upright, some electric, and lots of synth bass everywhere. It's like a retro Avalanches record. Which, notable difference is how analogue everything sounds and I can't really describe it any other way. I also love the mixing in this - very much an album for headphones and drugs. My only gripe is that Sexy Boy doesn't hit and some of the songs run a bit long.
Holy crap these drums are so good. I'm starting to understand the obsession with that 80's sound but the drums stand out here.

Love love love. The arrangements are standouts for sure. They really allow the track and album to breathe. Great use of space and textures. Will be coming back to this one often
This is so cool! The production is a product of the time in the best way possible with the exaggerated panning and the particular instruments used.
The songwriting is a huge focus on this album and it stands out quite significantly. While some of the songs get a bit same-y in the bloated track list, it’s all still quite pleasant!
Honestly? This was fine. Some good peaks in the songwriting but the music wasn’t anything new and sounds pretty dated.

Very groovy with some interesting synths. Very sharp and surprisingly aggressive EDM
I see what they were going for and this is clearly iconic but it feels very dated and stuck in the late 80s/ early 90s. Not bad, just not timeless like some others on this list.
Cool fusion of traditional south Asian instruments and electronic music but not quite for me. While it was done very well, it wasn’t until Viktor The Vampire that I felt excited for a track.
I really wish I was able to put a bit more attention towards this album today. I liked it as easy listening while working but I can tell I missed something. Either way, this is a very tight piece of music and one of the more modern ones I have gotten to off this list. It feels timeless in its organic instrumentation and definitely one I will come back to with the lyrics up!

Oh no! Can I not rate albums anymore?... Well, this would be a 4. Super unique voice but the songwriting didn't feel the same. I see why hip hop loves him though. Jay-z vibes!
Some hits on here but overall feels like a product of its time. Would’ve been a 4-5 when I was 15, closer to a 3 now.
Feels very 90s and I can see why he got so big. Redefining Hallelujah helps but that's the only song I knew prior to this listen so hearing the rock influences was fun.
