Popular Reviews

Imagine by John Lennon

I went into this album having already downloaded two of the songs, I left having downloaded them all. This album has it all, good songwriting, good music, and variety. The political messages sound extra important in today’s world and the Paul McCartney diss track is something special. I’m sure I’m biased because of my Beatlemania as a kid but I have to rate this as a near perfect album. 9/10 but 5/5

Young Americans by David Bowie
Jan 13 2021

Bowie provides some funk but not quite enough to label it as such, also the Beatles cover throws me off.

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
Jan 14 2021

The Byrds used common 60s methods like backwards guitar riffs in the album but they all just felt wrong. A few songs sounded like what a headache feels like.

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub
Jan 15 2021

A good album, no song stood out as great but then again none were bad either

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jan 17 2021

Buckley popularized hallelujah but it’s not the version in Shrek. I also liked “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over.” I was leaning more 3.5 with this album.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 18 2021

The harmonica on this album is so shrill, it made certain songs hard to listen to. The themes of the songs, like police officers and prisoners, just don’t hit anything for me. No song stood out as good or bad throughout the album. I’d do 2.5 stars if I could.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jan 19 2021

Not my preferred genre of music but it’s hard to deny that this is a great album. It shreds plain and simple!

Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter
Jan 20 2021

Nothing really stands out about this album, I almost forgot that I listened to it earlier. 2.5

Jan 21 2021

Two songs I liked enough to save, some songs were plain weird though, I think one or two more good songs would’ve bumped this up!

Imagine by John Lennon

Jan 24 2021

It was the soundtrack to a film I’ve never heard of.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Jan 25 2021

I had high hopes for this album but it ended up just being alright to me

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Jan 29 2021

I love this kind of music hence the 4 star rating, but I can see the possible complaints. There is no variety whatsoever in this album. Every song sounds exactly the same, it just so turns out that I like the sound.

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jan 30 2021

Some good songs, some not so good songs. It was an interesting listen but not my normal cup of tea!
