For all the grief Coldplay catches, this album does a good job of illustrating WHY they became so popular that they also became a punchline for BEING popular. Damn, it's a really good album - well-crafted, song after song - and good to have a reason to listen to it and remember what the fuss was about.
Yasssssssss. Not sure anything more needs to be said, but this is in my top 20 ever albums based on the line "she's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake" alone, much less Alison, Angels Want to Wear My Red Shoes and everything else on this goldmine.
Had never heard this before - awesome - right up there on the list with the Clash, the Femmes, and other angry punk/post-punk bands of the era.
will never understand how hard these guys could rock when on the verge of passing out . . . but damn, they had something.
Rush. Moving Pictures. Tom Sawyer, Living in the Limelight, AND YYZ. That's it. That's the tweet.
Wow - didn't know this album existed - but it underscores what a critical part of CSN sound Croz actually was - and likely an important foil to Stills.
Four sides of pure Zeppelin goodness - if I were being honest, probably 4 stars compared to Led Zeppelin III or Houses of the Holy, but the extra star for nostalgia as this just BARELY fit on a 90 minute Maxell cassette - it was my first cassette on my St Louis-to-New Jersey roadtrips in my college years going home - got me halfway across Illinois.
Enjoyed - not sure if I'd put in on the "must listen to" list of 1001 albums, but had never heard it before and will listen more.

Really the poster child for why I think EM doesn't improve as it gets more "pure" - yes, a very well-crafted album, but whether at home or at a rave there's not enough variation/ebb/flow that feels organic.
Truly a classic - Peg, Black Cow, and Deacon Blues alone are worth putting it on the 1001 list, but there's 4 more great cuts as well! Only reason I'm not giving it 5 is that I rank it 3rd in SD's catalog after Pretzel Logic and Gaucho
Holy #$$&@! Awesome album - stripped-down pre-grunge, I'd call it - be willing to bet Nirvana had heard them as they were becoming Nirvana
Yeah, already understand 3 tracks in why it's on the 1001 - awesome hiphop flows with all kinds of other genres plugged in for visits. Just has that "seminal" feel to it. No doubt Gorillaz was hip to this duo as Dan started building his albums.
Bubblegum pop, even most of the good stuff (and this is well crafted) -- just not my thing.

If you're going to pick a Def Leppard album that's 'important', the breakout "Pyromania" is the way to go - the # of hits on this one is as much a function of the momentum that came form Pyromania as it is the songs themselves - this one comes off more as watered-down glam metal/hairband.
