Psychocandy
The Jesus And Mary ChainVery good, and clearly very influential, sometimes a bit much on the ears though.
Very good, and clearly very influential, sometimes a bit much on the ears though.
Nice vibes, but only a couple of stand-out songs.
Mess of genres that doesn't really work at all for me. Couple of decent songs.
Far more weird and interesting than I expected. Very cohesive and excellent flow to the whole thing.
Excellent, but I wouldn't find myself listening through the album start to finish, except as background music.
Not really a genre suited to album listening. Overly long and repetitive tracks (and irritating vocal samples), plus none of the bangers they had on some of their later albums.
Couple of points I did enjoy, but on the whole there are some far more interesting punk records out there
Very mixed bag, some parts feeling like 5/5, and others genuinely 1/5.
Not always the easiest of listens, but fantastic all the same.
Decent instrumentals, but like a lot of the rap from this era, it feels incredibly dated now.
I can respect it, but most of it just isn't for me.
Musically fairly impressive but not particularly memorable. Title track is a bit more interesting with the folk influences going on.
Slows down quite a lot in the middle, but otherwise very good.
So many songs I kinda liked, until the vocals started.
Not bad, but I was surprised how bored I was by a lot of this album.

Kinda nice, but I just don't think Bossa Nova is for me.
Pretty generic 90s alt rock. Musicianship not too bad, but songs sound quite samey, and the singing is truly, truly awful.
This era of rock really hasn't aged well. Mostly sounds like a parody of itself, and isn't nearly fun enough to make up for its lack of quality.
Pretty good, but not quite as great as some of his later stuff.
Very good 90s alt-rock, a pleasant surprise.
Very conflicted on this. Thought I would enjoy it more than I did, gets a 4 mostly for being more musically/technically impressive than a lot of albums.
A couple of good points, weighed down by oh so much late-80s nonsense.
