Eric ClaptonIt’s listenable but not outstanding. Pretty run of the mill, derivative close to appropriation. Can’t separate Clapton’s toxic racism and politics from his work.

Some classics like More Than a Feeling but the rest pretty samey.
Great. Can hear a lot of influences like NAS and how he’s influenced others like Mos Def. Can’t believe I’d never heard this before.

Okay. Some interesting songs like The Partisan but I found it too stripped back and monotonous. I’m still failing to get Cohen.
Some classic tracks such as Smoke on the Water and Highway Superstar, and I really enjoyed the energy and musicianship.
EXCELLENT! I loved this, it sounded great live and what an amazing talent Janis was! I loved the cover of Summertime and Take Another Little Piece of My Heart Now Baby. LOVE the Crumb cover, of course! Will definitely listen to this again.
Excellent – I love the raps and beats (even if all WTC sounds the same), will definitely listen closer.
Interesting and definitely full of depth – I feel like I need another listen. Reminded me a bit of Khadija Bonet. Can't believe I'd never heard of her!
Love this album! Such a classic! Don't know if I could listen to it again, given I spent so much of my tragic youth listening to this and Grace by Jeff Buckley, but it was great.
Just to keep review in place. I did like his last album
Classic. Just classic. You can feel the energy, and a great companion to Fulsom Prison, which is one of my favourites. Interesting this was chosen over that.
I remember this and the Andy Votel mix of Round the Block! On relistening, it’s awesome. Rich, layered, complex, beautiful. I’ll definitely listen to this again.
Awesome classic. Jane Says, Had a Dad and Mountain Song. Never listened as closely as RDLH but really enjoyed it. But will RDLH be included as well?
Sorry can’t listen to this. Morrissey was never as good solo as he was with Marr, and his racism has spoilt him for me.
Although at first I didn't love this as much as Badmotorfinger, which I reckon is their masterpiece, I ended up loving this as a reminder of my youth. Songs like Black Days and Black Hole Sun are now poignant, and given I loved King Animal, I reckon this holds it own.
Absolute super classic. Loved this!
Awesome! I LOVED this! Such great songs, such great lyrics and melodies. So sophisticated for seemingly simple punk music. Brilliant. How did I ever miss this band?
Loved classic Bowie but found his new stuff hard to get through. I'll give it another go – only because it's Bowie. Didn't really do it for me, didn't get past second track, it was very meandering and unengaging.
Totally overrated band but this was a good album. Made me think I’d relisten to their other stuff now too.
Some interesting moments and quite musically diverse but reminded me of the worst excesses of mid 2000s "art pop" – mostly self indulgent and unlistenable. What's wrong with a melody?
Love the Roots. Great album.
TBC
Raucous and fun, I enjoyed this!
I didn't remember this until I heard it, and it brought back so many memories, of that Stone Roses/Happy Mondays vibe. I never realised Jah Wobble wasn't black either. Great stuff — especially Visions of You.
YASS! Super classic! Love White Lines and The Message but this was so informative and interesting! Didn't realise how funky it was, like She's Fresh. And more funk than rap. Loved this. Will definitely listen to this again!
Really enjoyed this at the time...and quite enjoyed it now, though I wonder about their other albums
It was fine. A bit all over the place and I’ve heard these songs so much they didn’t really make an impression.
Weird, not quirky. Overrated. Derivative. Unlistenable.
Excellent. Such musicianship and sophistication. Loved it.
