The album seemed to move in fits and spurts. With just a few songs separating themselves from being ample b-roll background music. 47/100gecs
well paced album that pickups up when it starts to get a little tedious. punctuated with some excellent bops too. 72/100 gecs
finds a way to make keyboards cool without being ironic. 79/100 gecs
i like when London got a shout out. 40/100 gecs
Wow, what an album! It starts very strongly with the up tempo Disorder, then takes on a mellow tone before springing back to life with She's Lost Control. Disorder, Wilderness & Interzone being particular highlights. A post-punk album that can be considered one of the founding fathers of indie rock. 92/100 gecs
Having something of a soft spot for 60's music this listen was made even better with how good this album was. No songs really stood out to me, but every one of them was as good as the last. 58/100 gecs
I'm so glad that this album dropped on a Friday. It's a masterpiece, every song is a infatuating as the last. From the soft opening Scarbrough Fair/Canticle and For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her to the up-tempo Homeward Bound and A Simple Desultory Philippic providing brilliant highlights. This album has been played constantly since it was generated. 95/100gecs.
This was a fun album. Not typically my style of music. Although, I did grow up listening to crooners when in my grandfather's car. Enjoyable album, although not particularly re-playable. 45/100gecs
I made it about halfway through this album before giving up. It was okay at best. I liked how evocative the lyrics were but the music itself was well below the standard of some of the albums lately. 28/100gecs.
What a difference a day makes. This album feels like it succeeded where PJ Harvey failed. Songs about sham glamour and how unaware people are to the world around them. IT's a good mix of slow meaningful melody and poignant lyrics. 59/100gecs
I enjoyed this album. Although didn't love it. Hard to Handle stood out to me, I enjoyed that song in particular. 55/100gecs
Not a huge Elvis fan, so I thought I was going to be underwhelmed. Thankfully, this was a great album. In particular, I enjoyed I'm Moving On, Suspicious Minds (obviously) and Kentucky Rain. 70/100gecs
Okay, this has me conflicted. The rating on this album is going to be high even though I only really loved 30% of it. That's because the highs are sky high and the lows are mediocre. I understand that all the songs can't be to the level of Baba, Behind Blue Eyes and Wont Get Fooled but some of them were just so meh that it made listening a bit of a chore. 85/100 gecs
Album starts strong. Crescendo's at Enjoy the Silence. Blue Dress was the only song I disliked.
