Cheap Thrills
Big Brother & The Holding CompanySuper fun to hear a younger and lesser-known Janis, I always enjoyed her vocals, they seemed to be made to sing the blues.

This album is super fun, it reminds me of Boys II Men. I did not expect a ballad, but it is really nice -- Yesterday. Can't Keep Running Away is so good!
What timing! I literally just started to listen to this yesterday. I laughed at the Mercedes Benz song. Classic Me and Bobby McGee. My favorites upon first listen are Trust Me, Get It While You Can, Half Moon, And A Lonely Woman. I did not get to the bonus materials today.
I admit I had never listened to a HH project until now. It was so good.
Classic. Amy was way ahead of her time. Gems: Wake Up Alone, Unholy War, My Tears Dry On Their Own The Deluxe edition is incredible too.
I only knew of his hit Virtual Insanity and was too young at the time to really think much of it or pursue what the rest of his music was about. It is pretty good, his voice is very smooth, and it's an interesting combination of genres.
Not my genre, but I can totally see how kids would love it and listen to it as they rage and are hormone filled. lol
I was not sure what to expect, I honestly thought I would hate it, but the band has a cool vibe, very chill -- retro and I like it.
I only knew their big hit We Are Familly. Some very fun 70's bops and ballads. Favorites: One More Time, Somebody Loves Me -- and of course We Are Family. Found Free on Spotify, now THIS song is a good one.
This came up exactly on Christmas day! I love this!
I really enjoyed this album, so heartbreaking and raw. I need to listen to more of MG's music.
Funky and fun
Oh Elliot why have I not listened to you before? Gorgeous voice and songs, very very sad.
Classic Elvis. I always have loved his live version of In The Ghetto, Suspicious Minds.
This doesn't really stand out for me with most music from that time period, so it's ok.
This is the first BD album I have listened to. I respect the man's talent for song writing and what he has done, but it isn't really my thing.
I didn't realize that I knew Our House. It is pretty decent, not something I would personally return to. Also, blackface is never cool.
Very interesting....I may have to re-listen to his stuff to truly 'get' it. I wasn't a fan of Bjork's voice and now I love her so we'll see.
This was a very different sound from what I am used to, and really enjoyed it.
A classic from top to bottom.
My friend was obsessed with Dwight when we were children, it isn't this album, but this transported me right back to that moment. I am not a big fan of country, so sorry Mr. Yoakam, this isn't my cup of tea. Also, those lyrics about killing your girl....um, big no.
Lady of Soul for a reason!
Queen of Soul for a reason, amazing album.
This album had mixed reviews, and I had never heard their music previously, but once I listened I thought it wasn't too bad.
Really fun feminist music, I did not realize I had heard one of their songs before.
I personally don't really like The Doors music, and reading about him exposing himself kind of takes away from things too.
My dad would listen to Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings when I was a child. I have not listened to any solo Willie and this cover album is so freaking good. I am very impressed.
Everybody knows the classic Sweet Dreams, but I didn't know the rest of the album. Overall fun, 80's bops.
Classic, I love this album.
This is not the music I was anticipating, but it is interesting. On one hand, I think he has a good voice, the music is a good mix, but I also find it a bit too bland.
Freaking classic Janelle.
