Such a great album, and one that's almost unbearably sad to listen to now we know what was happening. Same old fucking story - four stars all for Alice

Today is a good day, finally listening to The Jesus Lizard and understanding what the fuss is about. Being a Brit born in 1993 there's this whole era of American alt rock that completely passed me by, and I'm glad to be discovering it now. This has great guitar sounds, a good sense of humour and plenty of chaos. Sometimes that's exactly what I need

Not something I would play day-to-day, but there's a lot to it and I definitely get the appeal. Pleased to have been exposed to it

If I could abstain from rating this, I would. It's 5 for the music, 1 for the woman. The crashing piano of Dresden Dolls and Amanda Palmer was everything to me as a teenager, and I've carried it through my life as an ultimate comfort food. I'm at 'owns a Dresden Dolls tea towel' levels of fanship. Usually I'm okay to separate art from artist, at least to an extent - it gets a lot harder when the artist is current and the harm is now, and there's a level of depravity that casts the music in new light. Then again, we've always known that Amanda Palmer is a complicated character, and that's part of the intrigue. I don't listen to any of her music anymore. But I was reluctantly pleased to have an excuse to revisit it.

What an all time classic. Shocked this didn't make it to the main list
