Popular Reviews

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo

This album is just the boring parts of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” on loop for 36 minutes. It sounds like one long continuous song, couldn’t tell you the beginning or end of anything, it all blends together and it isn’t even in an interesting way.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Mar 01 2023

Band On The Run felt overrated (overplayed) until I really sat and listened to it, what a fucking masterpiece. Jet is kind of muddy, not a huge fan of the constant buzz. Let Me Roll It is awesome, sounds familiar, but I don’t think I’d ever heard it before. Amazing guitar riff, bluesy, it’s so good. Zoo Wings is kind of awesome, but also kind of sucks, can’t decide.

Le Tigre by Le Tigre
Mar 02 2023

It was alright, I liked most of it, but I wouldn’t listen to it often. Feels like it could get irritating.

The Stooges by The Stooges
Mar 04 2023

We Will Fall sucks so bad, meandering 10 minute repetitive song felt like a YouTube video that has to be 10:01 just for the ad revenue. Besides that, the album was pretty good. I did listen to the bonus track Asthma Attack and that was definitely something. Overall decent besides the one big strike against it on we will fall

Murmur by R.E.M.
Mar 06 2023

First two songs were good, the rest of the album was some American proclaimers bs

Mar 07 2023

It was fine, very dated as far as hip hop goes and not in the “The Message” way. Sounded like a beat mixtape with mostly adlibs over it. Bring the noise is goated though, worth it entirely for that finale.

Solid album, but a bit indistinguishable. Liked island letter in particular.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Mar 10 2023

Definitely like the overall sound, didn’t blow me away though. Wouldn’t it be nice is obviously a banger though, phenomenal opener and then the rest is still really good, just has a hard time following that.

Soul Mining by The The
Mar 11 2023

Too intellectual, “I’m too smart” avant-garde pop bullshit

Mar 12 2023

Listened to the whole thing and wanted to turn it off 90% of it. Felt sort of pretentious, up its own ass, and dragged. It had its moments, but they were fleeting and few and far between.

Was sort of cool at first, I liked No Action. Kind of one note for most of the album though. Don't feel like it belongs on this list.

Nonstop bangers. Borderline a greatest hits album. I particularly love Oh Daddy, had never heard that one before and it was lovely.

Yeezus by Kanye West
Dec 23 2024

Amazing production. This album is one of the first "noise" style albums I've ever enjoyed. Some of the lyrics are kind of insane (sweet and sour sauce for example, iykyk), but this is a no skip album for me.
