1001 Albums Summary

More like 4.5... A lot of fun stuff on this one but just a wee bit too long. Respect though!

Some great U2 classics on this album. Might be their best front to back, leaps and bounds better than the album stuck on everyone's iPod.

Didn't grow up in a house that loved these guys... That being said I have come to appreciate them more and more. Still not my thing but a fun window to 80s hair metal and LA partying!

A lot of hits plus a song about masturbation. I love the 80s!

I really enjoy the industrial/lofi sound from the 90s... This scratched that itch!

I feel like I don't get into modern hip hop easily but this album felt like something I could put on and enjoy any day.

Another solid installment. This is prob a 3.5 for me but I'll round up.

Re-listening to this was fun. I bought this CD in HS lol. Coldplay gets a bad rap most of the time but this is def a good album from their humble beginnings. 4.5 for nostalgia but rounding down for the grand scheme of things. May buy this on vinyl though!!

What an interesting time for music due to digital downloads, legal or not, and the power for word of mouth to really propel bands to reach listeners. Not to mention certain TV shows spotlighting such bands. (cough cough, OC, cough) Although a lot of this kind of music sound the same IMO, I credit Doves to bring some kind of segue way from the 90s to the 2000s in their tunes. Enjoyed this one!

A lot of old country is more of a novelty to me at this point. Not to say I didn't enjoy it but it is something I will prob never put on unless I am trying to be funny. Waylon Jennings did have a cameo in Follow That Bird so props. "I found out a long time ago...."

This album reminds me of when I moved to LA. I do think since then the Black Keys have become a bit overrated but this was def the record that got them on the road to that... in a good way haha! 3.5 but rounding down...

A lot of famous jams but I never really got into Joplin. I have a love/hate with her voice... Hate is a strong word I guess.

This was bit of a rollercoaster for me. Still can't decide if I like it or not but I can totally see how a lot of people were influenced by this record if that's a thing that happened. 2.5 really...
