Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
May 23 2023

Title track is an obvious classic. Album is smooth as hell throughout, sweet instrumental production, tones and voice. Adding a few of these to a very special kind of playlist ;)

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
May 24 2023

Title track is played to death and doesn't do anything good for me anymore. Girl's got rhythm is really good though. Record has really good drive (tempo, guitar riffs and drum rhythms). Didn't expect this record to be this impressive overall.

Aja by Steely Dan
May 25 2023

So smooth. Production quality through the roof. Very pro, such progressive, so jazz. Peg is absolutely perfect. Home at last i haven't heard too many times, but is ridiculously good too (that jazzy synth solo at ~ 3:10 <chef's kiss>). The Josie track was already a favorite of mine, but after hearing through the album again in its entirety, I would say a few of the other tracks have risen above. 5/5.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
May 26 2023

Classic album, and although it's not necessarily groundbreaking in any way, it still gets a fair bit of praise in my book. Intro to Money For Nothing is like something off a Pink Floyd track. Guitar tone is pretty sick, what even is that? Walk Of Life is still a bit of a mood booster, but not very interesting (Your Latest Trick much more so, compositionally). Based on plays, One World seems somewhat underrated to me, was pretty good. Title track is fantastic: Knopfler makes his guitar sing and has great lead tone. Loving the vibe overall. 4/5.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
May 29 2023

Some sweet and mostly short tracks on this eh. My highlights: The Ledge! Think About Me, and more.

May 31 2023

Maybe a weird take, but I'm not loving the higher vocal frequencies of Love Is a Stranger. Seems to rub my ear a little bit in the wrong way. Sweet Dreams though: good track, nuff said. Jennifer is also cool and compositionally it's a pretty interesting track. Some good instrumentation on This Is the House (horns, decent bass line, etc.) which I was pleased to hear. Works well despite the weird Spanish vocals. Really liking the vibe of This City Never Sleeps - simple, but effective. OK album overall, but "historical value/impact" aside, I'm a bit underwhelmed. The good/great tracks aren't enough to carry this one for me. 3/5.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Jun 01 2023

Album as a whole sounds pretty great, and while many of the tracks don't really excite me too much or hit the same highs as I perhaps expect from SW, there's a few pretty interesting and beautiful songs on here.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Jun 02 2023

strange, intense and admittedly even cool at times, but not exactly my cup of whiskey. 2/5

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Jun 07 2023

Mostly very groovy

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jun 08 2023

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Jun 09 2023

not bad, but nothing that really grabbed me with this one. just a bit boring overall.

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 12 2023

very nice.

Jun 14 2023

not so sure about this one. sometimes it's almost cool, sometimes it's annoying, but all of the time it's nothing to write home about.

Heroes by David Bowie
Jun 19 2023

me gusta

Purple Rain by Prince
Jun 22 2023
