1001 Albums Summary

10/10 Filled with classics (changes, oh you pretty things, life on mars) but also beautiful gems (kooks, the bewlay brothers) that will keep me coming back to this.

Definitely had some timeless summery songs, but odd lyrics and out of place tracks hold the album back

A surprisingly fun listen. Prefer it to their self titled.

Feels like I’m walking through the streets of Gotham. Some songs drag on a bit but when it’s good, it really nails the dreamy gothic sound and is very unique.

Don't usually listen to country but this album is beyond any genre. The phrase "man of the people" must have been based on Johnny Cash. San Quentin I hate every inch of youuu. Legendary stuff.

Never listened to Fleetwood Mac but I am pleasantly surprised. Really have no complaints about this album, it beautiful folky sound is right up my alley and the songs are perfectly concise for a double album, not to mention the gorgeous vocals. The only thing I would wish for is some more songs that experiment a little like the title track, but nevertheless a delightful listen.

Pleasant folk music. A nice morning listen. The man in the station is amazing.

Finally a soul album! Isaac Hayes' production is incredible and really elevates these 4 songs through gorgeous strings and piano keys backing the classic soul vocals. Walk On By is one of the best soul songs ever made and the longer version actually made me appreciate it more. Also 10/10 album cover.

This album forever has my heart.

Really a 3.5 but I feel good to round it up. I knew a lot about Tom Waits coming in; intensely scrappy voice, beautiful lyrics, gorgeous piano arrangements. This album did nothing to change my opinion of him, but I liked hearing more of his style. Album cover is 10/10.
