John Prine
John PrineCountry is not terrible, it is just not for me. Prine's voice is nice, but the lyrics do not come across as humorous but rather corny. Favorites: None

Yeah I am very shocked at how good this album is, this is such an incredibly formatted album with a unique sound on every track. I love the ethereal and psychedelic pop sound that is delivered throughout here, most tracks have me floating. The lows are still decent, but the highs are fucking incredible. Favourites: Holes / Tonite It Shows / Endlessly / I Collect Coins / Opus 40 / The Funny Bird / Pick It Up If You're There
7.5/10 Perfect Day stands out the most. Walk on the wild side is great. Mostly good.
Already heard. Genuine classic, I love the mix of jazz and rock, every song is a banger, this is one of my favorites.
A lot of the songs do sound very similar, but there are some stand outs that are very good and I will revisit. About half of the album is pure instrumentals which is fine, but a lot of the time it sounds like pure loud noise. To me I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy this, as I am not a big fan of noise rock, but it is a good album, and some songs will be revisited. Standouts: - Teen Age Riot - Silver Rocket - Eric's Trip - Providence - Candle - A)
The harmonies stand out the most, its an extremally melodic and calming folk album. I can tell apart the songs easily, and most are great, some songs fall flat if its due to boredom or it just does not sound good, but that is only a miniscule part of the album. Favorites: Scarborough Fair / Patterns / Cloudy / The Dangling Conversation / For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her / A Poem on the Underground Wall / 7 O'clock News I liked most of the album, and the rest was good / alright, there is some filler, but overall it was good. 100% relisten.
Sometimes the vocals are jarring but all around its a very good, but pretty basic album. The instrumentals do not miss. The first half of the album is almost perfect, and the latter half is pretty decent. Definitely a strong 3/5 is felt, almost a 4, but not just quite there. Favorites: Tom Sawyer / YYZ / Witch Hunt
Second thoughts are this is a very good album, and definitely an 8.5/10 This album is incredible, at each track is laced and has its own unique personality. The instrumentals are superb, there is not a single bad song. There is not much to say in a negative light, other than the fact some songs may sound similar, and some have basis indie riffs. Favorites: #1 / Une Annee Sans Lumiere / #4 / Crown of Love / Wake Up / In the Backseat
I was already familiar with 3 songs, and Radiohead in general, but this album blew me away. The album encapsulates the worst emotions, the sheer eeriness of these tracks is harrowing to me (in a good way). There is not a single bad song on this album, I love how the experimental and haunting nature of the record intertwine with each other. Favorites: Packt Like Sardines In a Crushd Tin Box / Pyramid Song / You And Whose Army? / I Might Be Wrong / Knives Out / Morning Bell/Amnesiac / Dollars and Cents / Like Spinning Plates / Life In a Glasshouse
This album is full of catchy hooks and great riffs, it is a classic. The downside is a lot of the songs sound the same and are very similar, still a great album. Favourites: Shoot to Thrill / What Do You Do for Money Honey / Let Me Put My Love Into You / Back In Black / You Shook Me All Night Long / Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution
Maxwell's vocals are smooth and sound like a weaker George Michael, but he still goes hard in every song. There is nothing really significant to me about this album, as in it's usefulness is only regarded to driving or sex. I would probably not listen to this album otherwise. Production and vocals are great, very funky and similar sounding. But I do have to give credit, some of these songs, especially track #6, are so powerful and flowing with groove, there is surely art present on this record. Favorites: The Urban Theme / Welcome / Ascension / Til the Cops Come Knockin' / Suitelady
Country is not terrible, it is just not for me. Prine's voice is nice, but the lyrics do not come across as humorous but rather corny. Favorites: None
Incredible album, nothing else to say, it is truly almost perfect. I could speak in lengths, it would not do this album justice. Favorites: Almost all of them
Clapton's solo's are the highlight of this album, it's a good album. The record is full of hits and misses, the highs are good, but the lows are terrible... (Little Girl) ??? Without Clapton I fear this record would be mid, which is still, pretty low... Favorites: All Your Love / Hideaway / Key To Love / Ramblin' On My Mind / Steppin' Out There are some... Weird songs on the album... and some pointless ones, and some bangers! I like the combination of clapton and blue's, I think for the most part is actually sounds pretty decent.
This sounds like a generic 80's rock album, trying to be the next ACDC. Electric starts off strong then falls flat early in and turns to average riffs and samey-songs, although I cannot deny some songs are pretty perfect. Astbury's vocals are nothing special and sound rather generic, this is a mountain of consistency. Favorites: Wild Flower / Peace Dog / Lil' Devil / Outlaw
The vocals are almost unintelligible, his voice is really not that great. That really would not be MUCH of an issue if the songs were not so unbearably tiresome. It isn't bad, it's boring, which is worse. Favorite: Adam Raised a Cain
I was hyped upon listening to this album as it is very reputable and has a classic. The first four tracks are mildly mediocre and disappointing, but by track 4, every song onwards was great. It is a good album, with some lows… Vocals are generally okay on most tracks. A couple of songs stand out, the rest are just plainly simple. I enjoyed this album a lot (if we pretend tracks 1-4 do not exist). Favourites: Miss Gradenko / Every Breath You Take / King Of Pain / Wrapped Around Your Finger / Murder By Numbers I will revisit this, not bad.
This is such a ‘majestic’ record, the epics are great and the tracks sound very well produced. First impressions, very good. Favourites: #1 / #2 / #3 #4 / #7
I did not need to hear this album before I died. There are probably 10 albums more significant in Bowie’s career, and it gives me this? The vocals are obviously not great but he gets a pass here. I vaguely slipped through the album, and it sounds rather plain and something I am not going to sit through for an hour. Favourites: ~
This is the second Rush album I am hearing and they are 2 for 2 so far, this album is incredible. The vocals and instrumentals are great, everyone shines here Some tracks shine more than others, but they are all great. Favourites: All of them
A very poor album, with the exception of two tracks that I actually really like. The vocals on this are either between terrible or somewhat decent, no in between. Most of the songs sound like unintelligible nonsense, for genuine songs that sound good you can play Russian roulette on shuffle. This barely scrapes a two. Favourites: She’s Hit / Several Sins
This record has some great ambient music, the sounds are very ethereal. It is a beautiful soundtrack to passing work, what other purpose is there for this. Each song sounds sonic and alien, and I think that is beautiful. Favourites: Phaedra / Movements Of A Visionary
This album is FIRE, I enjoy the coherent messages and theme throughout this record. A lot of the songs have the same structure but are laced with uniqueness. Vocals are edgy and honestly fantastic, this album does punk correctly. FEMINIST MASTERPIECE Favourites: Deceptacon / Hot Topic / Phanta / Let’s Run / My My Metrocard / Slideshow at Free University / Les and Ray
I was unfamiliar with Yusuf prior to venturing into this record, but I am nothing short of amazed. Every song is a banger, catchy, and downright beautiful. His vocals are great, the tones, melodies, and production all standout on this album. Favourites: All of them
I enjoyed this album overall, as it got better with every listen, and still may do so. I like the experimental and electric sounds throughout this record, it gives feel to something more than psychedelic. It makes it more unique. Suicide and Revolution were mediocre tracks IMO. They are not bad by any means and do fit the albums theme, but just have not resonated with me (yet). A sonic record I did really enjoy. Favourites: Honey / Come Down Softly To My Soul / I Believe It / Let Me Down Gently / So Hot / Lord Can You Hear Me
Nothing here really stands out, other than the bass on some songs, I did not exactly dislike this album, its just... Kind of boring. If background music in an outdated pub had a poster album it would be this, its not even remotely enjoyable. In one ear and out the other. I did not finish the record in its entirety. If the first 11 tracks (bar Vastopol) are mediocre, then I doubt the final 3 will be redeeming. Favourite: Vastopol
This is a phenomenal jazz album. All the sounds sound excellently worked. There is not a bad track, but some songs are greater than others. So close to a 5. Favourites: Desafinado / O Pato / Samba Dees Days / Samba Triste / Bahia
Why is he constantly slurring his words? Is he drunk? This record is not good in the slightest, I am not even going to pretend I enjoyed a single moment from this record let alone an actual entire song. There is no depth, I might have enjoyed one song if the singer did not drunkenly rant over the track. Even the art cover is dogshit. I hope I never think of this album again, its boring and it felt like it went on for 2 hours, yuck. I am probably being too harsh, but then again there was NOTHING redeeming about this project. Favourites: None
This records production feels ahead of it's time. I had a good experience listening to this, Tim's vocals are full of power and passion. These songs are just beautiful. He really does not fail to deliver. Upon first impressions, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I feel as time goes on this album will change for the better. I am at a loss for words in all honesty. Favourites: Strange Feelin' / Buzzin' Fly / Dream Letter / Gypsy Woman
I am cringing at the fact he is utilizing a Jamaican accent whilst singing, but in interviews he has the accent of a Londoner... Besides that, the tracks were barely average with some standouts (that I definitely will revisit), kind of a forgettable record all around. Vocals are mostly not great, with the exception of a few tracks... Yeah this isn't passing the mid allegations I'm afraid. Favourites: It's Great When We're Together / Even After All / Your Love Gets Sweeter
I glossed over these tracks, and Ray sounds like a breath of fresh air, he is taking old hits and making them his own, giving a Ray Charles twist. I can see why he is listed as one of the greats. But I cannot possibly sit through an album of covers for 74 Minutes. I can never really appeal to these tracks as the artistic integrity is not present here, it is merely a variant of a copy, unoriginal and uninspired, you cannot cheat the way through notorious hits and get outstanding credit. Again, the songs sound fantastic, but they aren't his, and that does not really sit right with me and takes away from the experience. I think if this album was originated from his mind, it would undoubtedly be given a 5, but on the other hand the fact he takes country sounds and renovates them to something sonically different, is definitely deserving of respect, and a more respectable rating. On a purely technical song standpoint? This album is perfect. Favourites: Disc 1 (Entirety) / Disc 2 (Entirety)
Yeah I am very shocked at how good this album is, this is such an incredibly formatted album with a unique sound on every track. I love the ethereal and psychedelic pop sound that is delivered throughout here, most tracks have me floating. The lows are still decent, but the highs are fucking incredible. Favourites: Holes / Tonite It Shows / Endlessly / I Collect Coins / Opus 40 / The Funny Bird / Pick It Up If You're There
I literally cannot hear a word they are saying, they may as well not speak at all. I see so much hype around mbv but I just do not get it at all. The genre of 'noise' just does not really encapsulate me at all, it is mostly an ear ache. I probably will not revisit this, but I hope it grows on me if I do choose to. Favourites: she found now / new you / nothing is
This instrumental jazz piece is great, the first track blew me away. I loved this record, I feel there is no boring segment here (bar a flatline in track 3). It is really good, but I sometimes feel large instrumentals to be 2D. Favourites: Chameleon / Watermelon Man / Vein Matter
The chemistry between the duo is the records biggest highlight. Chucks rhymes are really good and memorable. I think this LP is honestly overrated, the beat selection is not that good, especially on a track like 'Rebel Without A Pause'. I cannot focus on anything other than the annoying squeals in my ears. The songs are not diverse enough to run almost an hour long, I started to just hear this mesh of the same song again and again. It was a good record, I probably will revisit this, I would have definitely given it a higher rating if it was shorter, and if Chuck decided to switch up his flow... Oh and also if the beats were not just a 3 second sample on repeat for 5 minutes, TX is lacking here. Favourites: Don't Believe The Hype / Louder Than A Bomb / Caught, Can We Get A Witness? / Show Em' Whatcha Got / She Watch Channel Zero?
I can understand Bob Dylan's appeal, being such an influential figure to so many artists is a great feat, but I can not understand why. Dylan's strong point is definitely his poetry, but having good songwriting is not going to save any of these songs from being decent. A lot of these tunes do drag on as such you can get the gist of the song by listening to it for 5 seconds, as its like that in its entirety. I am under the impression that good instrumentals and a great voice can save mediocre lyricism, but not the other way around. If Dylan experimented more on different sounds or at least switched it up a couple of times I would really really love this record, as I do like the genre of folk. There are some really good songs here, and his level of songwriting puts me in a fantasy where I am living through his songs. I also found his voice to be somewhat decent which is contrary to a lot of opinions. Most of the tracks here are quite good, the storytelling really puts you in a certain narrative like no other, this album is very good. Favourites: Tangled up in Blue / Simple Twist of Fate / You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go / Meet Me in the Morning / Buckets of Rain
Not much to say on this album, I liked it, saving most of the songs. Street life is a fantastic track and by far my favourite, without it I might have had a sour taste, nonetheless I enjoyed this record. Favourites: Street Life / My Lady / Carnival Of The Night / Night Faces
Black Francis has a terrible voice, most of these tracks were looking to be good but were ruined by the screech being projected from his ears, I almost felt sick hearing it. Hearing his voice for the first time was like eating your favourite meal, except there's no food and a fork is being scraped all over the fucking plate. On a positive note, it wasn't that long, but there were some good songs. I enjoyed tracks like 'Here Comes Your Man', why couldn't the rest of the tracks be similar to this one? This album is borderline trash, I am trying my absolute hardest to understand why someone could genuinely enjoy this horror, it's weird as some of my favourite bands are directly inspired by Pixies. Favourites: Here Comes Your Man / Dead / Monkey Gone To Heaven / La La Love You
I kinda really liked this, I feel it will grow on me.
I do not think this is my thing...
I did not need to hear this before I died.
Incredible debut, this is everything indie rock should be. Favourites: All of them
