Nighthawks At The Diner
Tom WaitsTom Waits is an all time favorite of mine. I love his bluesy melodies, easily recognizable bass, vivid lyrics and stories. This album has pent of that.

I liked Thriller better than Bad, but neither were my type of music. I recognize the significance of this album and it's influence on music and culture.
Very much my style of music. I love the punk style and driving guitar and drums. Lyrics and lead vocals are great. Very British.
Depeche Mode was a staple of my musical diet in college. I know many of these songs by heart. I will always marvel at the haunting quality of David Gahan's vocals. Their dark lyrics combined with driving synth sound is mesmerizing.
I liked the music on this album better than their 80's stuff. Too guitar heavy. A lot of elements that I like in other music-- bluesy rock, gritty vocals--doesn't seem to come together in a way that I like it. La Grange, the one song I knew before listening to this entire album, has a better balance of beat and guitar.
I am a Black Keys fan and am familiar with this album. I can't sit still when it's playing. I love the beats; I love the lyrics and vocals; I love the guitar and bass.
Really enjoyed this album. Great beats and vocals.
I'm afraid I have never been a fan of "hard rock" and in trying again, I still don't like it. Highway to Hell will always be kind of fun, but after listening to one song, I'm done.
I never connected with this album, which is a bit of a surprise. 60's/70's rock and alt rock is my groove. I recognize the style and the beats, but it does nothing for me.
I tried. I did. I even like an occasional thrash metal song. But not often and not more than one.
How can you not love Carole King, classic, icon. The songwriting is masterful and the melodies engaging. I could sing so many of these songs by heart.
Beastie Boys are icons for a reason--and I love them. They were ground breaking in hip-hop, not just because they are white, but also because they fused rap and rock. Their lyrics are fun and novel; their beats are infectious and driving. Love this entire album.

Another one I just can't enjoy, no matter how hard I try.
This was NOT the Chicago I was expecting. In fact I Googled "Chicago Transit Authority" because I was sure it must be a different band. This was bluesy, catchy, with more depth and complexity than the 80's Chicago I was familiar with- the synth piano, ballad band. This wouldn't be at the top of my playlist, but I enjoyed listening to it.
I recognize the significance of Ice Cube as an artist and of his music. I even occasionally enjoy his beats, but I'm afraid I'm not a fan of the music, of most of the lyrics.
I got tired of this album very quickly. Instead of feeling timeless, like much of the music from their era, it felt dated and repetitive. All the Lonely People will always resonate, but I don't think I need to listen to the rest of it again.
I was a big fan of XTC's 1989 Oranges and Lemons. This didn't have the vibrancy of that album or the sense of originality. I became bored quite quickly.
I love Tears for Fears. This album is great.
