The song and Amy's voice aside, the instruments and mixing of 'You know I'm no good' are brillaint.
Just Friends - another great production and has a very 60's vibe.
'Rehab' and 'Addicted' topical in AW's life I suppose.
'Our day will come' differnt from other tracks.
'Mr. & Mrs. Jones' another great production, with a jazzy feel.lppl)
The chord structures and piano stabbed chords in 'Back to black' and 'Wake up alone' give them a 50s / 60s feel.
'He can only hold her' and others, make up a great album.
4 out of 5 for me.
Solider' poem, with piano arpeggios and voal harmonies is nice.
Invincible is a good song but not a fan of the guitar solo. If not already, will be advert music for a new phone or something.
Driving music but the lead singing is bland, even when he goes for power, like in Exo-politics.
Hoodoo interesting with its Western
Then ballad
Bland album, no groove, nothing that made me even tap my feet, not one stand out track. Will give it a 1/5 only for their attempt to be creative.
Mainly gritty rock amd roll, driven by that guitar. A couple of differemr slow songs (including Changes) and what is FX all about - sounds like some studio clatter ?!
Elton John has very tight musicians and well produced, good variety of tunes, even some Caribbean(ish)
Nice and smooth, should be listened to in a posh hotel foyer!
All tracks very similar on account of the need for a sax and guitar solo
Sophisticated jazz chords. Great musicians ... smooth but with some punch.
With jazz, I never know where its going. I'm sure there's a structure...but I don't know what it is! Like a soundtrack to 60's films
Some blues guitar riffs and harmonica give this a bluesy feeling with the rest of the album sounding like a bit like a mixture of the Who and George Thorogood rock.
Heavy / thrash metal all about death and the devil. The music is probably best enjoyed live! All tracks very similar
Lots of good sampling and scratching on these laid back tracks with clear lyrics. Good sound and surprisingly relaxing!
Though not my thing, so I'll rate it at 2
Good album with many good songs (some I don't remember hearing before) with usual Beatle's harmonies. Sound ranges from their early work but with hints of what was to come in late 60s
Very 80s, very smooth, nice voice.
Ideal for putting on in the background for a romantic night....but wouldn't liste to it otherwise!
A lot of sound, thays doesn't sound like anybody else! Mainly upbeat with a final story telling track
Mainly jazzy love or lost love tunes.
Great piano. Some good songs but some a bit dreary
The unmistakable sound of Stevie Wonder, a mix of songs (none of which I recognised) including some slow numbers and many uptempo with a funky bass.
I don't remember this but found it an enjoyable listen. Very much guitar driven tunes. Would listen again
Guitar, drums, bass, some organ and a mix of sounds, some vocals (a hint of Dylan on a couple of the tracks) and some screaming. A right moody album with some death threats
Band on the wrong sound like two unrelated songs stuck together. About 3 minutes in the title track and album should have started then!
Picassso’s last words, has quite an interlude, very different.
Reverb on some vocals sounds like he’s singing from a room out the back of the studio but that could be as I listened to the 2010 remastered album (maracas prominent on many tracks).
The tracks are as bland as the singers voice and delivery.
