My favorite songs were My My, Hey Hey (Int the black)" and Thrasher and Sail Away (has a bluegrass feel), Powderfinger. I like how the intro song was redone as the last song on the album, but with distortion. I find the album a little repetitive, the guitar riffs almost always have a chord, walkdown, chord, chord formulation. And the chord progression in the verse and chorus match often, which feels flat. Neil's voice isn't very strong so I think it brings the quality down a bit, but I know he wrote the songs so I'm all for him singing them.
. My favorite songs were not surprising: 1. Under the Bridge 2. Give it Away 3. Suck my Kiss 4. Funky Monks Has the funk/punk/rock/rap fusion that has made Red Hot Chili Peppers so famous. Great album, 3.5 stars. 1. "The Power of Equality" 4:03 3* Sounds like RHCP, but softer, repetitive. Not bad, not great. Sounds under-produced. 2. "If You Have to Ask" 3:36 3* Kind of a bad parody of gangsta rap at the time, but weak. Flea's bass lines are solid, guitar is good, but this feels under-produced again. The levels are off. Vocals are good but the rap is reverbed and that's not great. 3. "Breaking the Girl" 4:55 4* Great production, song, melody. Well produced. Favorite song so far on the album. 4. "Funky Monks" 5:22 3.5* Produced well. Sounds like RHCP! Great guitar/drums/vocals and bass of course. Haven't heard this one before I don't think. Sounds like a jam. The bridge "you are not alone..." seems a bit flat though. 5. "Suck My Kiss" 3:36 3.5* Produced well, but sounds super similar to other songs on the album. Better vocals, but produced softer than it should be. I remember hearing this one but it isn't a standout. 6. "I Could Have Lied" 4:04 4* Good slow song, good vibe. 7. "Mellowship Slinky in B Major" 3:59 4* Sounds like Give it Away. Bass line slaps so hard. 8. "The Righteous & the Wicked" 4:07 3* Not bad. Not great. 9. "Give It Away" 4:42 5* A classic. Bassline, guitars, rapping, vocals all top notch. 10. "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" 4:31 4* Chill, fun vibe. 11. "Under the Bridge" 4:24 5* My favorite song on the album. 12. "Naked in the Rain" 4:25 3* Bouncy, vocals are a little weak, but great guitar and bass. Vocals sound too quiet. 13. "Apache Rose Peacock" 4:41 3* Okay 14. "The Greeting Song" 3:13 3* Okay 15. "My Lovely Man" 4:39 3* Okay 16. "Sir Psycho Sexy" 8:16 3* Very RHCP style. Good bass line with a cool effect on the sound. Produced better than many of the other songs on the album. Cool ending. 17. "They're Red Hot" Robert Johnson 1:09 3* Swing style. Vocals a little on the weak side. 18. "Little Miss Lover" Jimi Hendrix 2:39 4* Great guitars in this, vocals are strong. Nice solo. Vocals are reminiscent of Hendrix's style. 19. "Castles Made of Sand" Jimi Hendrix 3:19 4.5* What a nice remake of a Hendrix song.
Great sound consistently throughout. Lots of great songs on here. 4*
Ice Cube, The Predator 1992 4.5* if I could do half stars. It's a great album with some classics. Top tier: - "Wicked" - "It Was a Good Day" - "We Had to Tear This Mothafucka Up" Second tier: - "When Will They Shoot?" - "Now I Gotta Wet 'Cha" - "Dirty Mack" - "Don't Trust 'Em" - "Gangsta's Fairytale 2" 1. "The First Day of School (Intro)" Ice Cube 1:20 3* because it ain't music. But dang, I hadn't heard this in years since listening to this as my first ever CD. Brought back some memories, man. 2. "When Will They Shoot?" 4:36 4* Jam track. I haven't heard this since I used to listen to the CD. Forgot how good this track was. Ice Cube's hard rhyming style comes out strong here. References O.P.P. and made me smile. My head's bobbing. 3. "I'm Scared (Insert)" 1:32 4. "Wicked" (featuring Don Jagwarr) 3:55 5* Everything slaps on this track. Great treble whine, bassline, drum track, rhymes. 5. "Now I Gotta Wet 'Cha" DJ Muggs 4:03 4* Intro goes hard. Song bounces throughout. 6. "The Predator" DJ Pooh 4:03 3* Not bad, interesting that this was the album's namesake track, as it's not even in the top 25%. 7. "It Was a Good Day" DJ Pooh 4:19 5* Still the best track on the album. 8. "We Had to Tear This Mothafucka Up" DJ Muggs 4:23 5* Another amazing track that does capture the rage in LA after the Rodney King verdict. 9. "Fuck 'Em (Insert)" Sir Jinx 2:02 Just a cutscene, but captures the media's coverage of Gangsta rap at the time. 10. "Dirty Mack" Mr. Woody 4:34 4* Decent track, lots of saxophone. The "happiest" sounding track on the album but the lyrics are anything but. 11. "Don't Trust 'Em" 4:06 4* Not bad, not great. Love the samples. Not Ice Cube's strongest work. 12. "Gangsta's Fairytale 2" (featuring Lil Russ) 3:19 4* Not bad, not amazing. Produced well, good samples. 13. "Check Yo Self" (featuring Das EFX) 3:42 4* Love the Das Efx appearance on this track. Good jam. 14. "Who Got the Camera?" Sir Jinx 4:37 3* Not a track that grabs me, but definitely an Ice Cube song. His sharp-tongued critique of cops over a driving beat is a thing of beauty. 15. "Integration (Insert)" Ice Cube 2:31 A cutscene, not much to rate here. Good beat. 16. "Say Hi to the Bad Guy" Sir Jinx 3:19 3*, has the maybe? humorous bit about them killing a donut grabbing cop.
# 1975, Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks 3* sadly, because I can't find myself listening to this over and over again. I appreciate the lyrics and the symbolism, the pain in his voice, the yearning. I appreciate all the simplicity and the raw emotions. But it's not something I'd give a lot of playtime. ## "Tangled Up in Blue" December 30, 1974, in Minneapolis 5:42 4* Interesting song, it's a story about a guy's mission to find a girl he met when he was younger. What does "blue" mean? It could be anything, I think it's just the simplest, the blues. ## "Simple Twist of Fate" September 19, 1974, in New York City 4:19 3* Haunting song about a casual encounter between a man and woman that leaves the man feeling empty. ## "You're a Big Girl Now" December 27, 1974, in Minneapolis 4:36 3* Dylan reflects on a woman he's broken up with moving on from a breakup. ## "Idiot Wind" December 27, 1974, in Minneapolis 7:48 4* Dylan's character is being attacked in the public eye, and he's taking arrows. It's a bitter, cold pushback against critics that gossip but they are idiots. It led to the breakup of his marriage, his wife Sara believed the bad press about Bob, leading to him calling her (and later himself) "an idiot, babe." ## "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" September 17, 1974, in New York City 2:55 3* A love song to a stormy relationship that will be ending inevitably. ## "Meet Me in the Morning" September 16, 1974, in New York City 4:22 4* Very blues-influenced. Loved it. Story of a man sending his girlfriend on a trip to Kansas in the Spring. ## "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts" December 30, 1974, in Minneapolis 8:51 3* A bank heist in the 1800s. Catchy, bouncy, but the story didn't grab me like the others. ## "If You See Her, Say Hello" December 30, 1974, in Minneapolis 4:49 3* Good song about a man moving on from an ex. Story grabs you. ## "Shelter from the Storm" September 17, 1974, in New York City 5:02 3* A song about his wife Sara and how she gave him shelter from the rockstar lifestyle. ## "Buckets of Rain" September 19, 1974, in New York City 3:22 3* A metaphor for the volume of tears that Dylan has shed for a lover that is frustrating and yet so dear to the author.
# Kate Bush, Hounds of Love, 1985 3* Kate's work has totally fallen off my radar since the 80s. This album came out when I was 8 and I didn't care about this style of music at the time. But I do have a fondness for 80s music, and Running up that Hill was a key part of Stranger Things and made me come back and love this song. I really liked the album and I can see why Bush has been so influential on pop music and the artists that followed her. I think Cyndi Lauper owes a lot of her style to Bush. ## "Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)" 5:03 4* Classic, that I didn't appreciate at the time--but Stranger Things has made me love this song. The driving beats, the synth backgrounds, great vocals, and the great harmonies make this a classic. The song is about the yearning for a man and woman to try to understand each other without knowing each other's experiences. The deal with God is to ask for the chance to skip experiences. Running up a hill (road, building) is a way of saying "walk a mile in the others's shoes". ## "Hounds of Love" 3:02 3* I've nver heard this song before, but I can notice some trademark Kate Bush touches. Driving drum beats, synths, some classic influences with the string instruments accompanying. The song's optimism and curiosity is fun. ## "The Big Sky" 4:41 * Kate has some driving beats behind her, piano. Great vocals. Good guitars. The production is good, great levels on everything. It sounds like it was ahead of its time. ## "Mother Stands for Comfort" 3:07 2* Not my style. Too experimental. The vocals are haunting, the synth sounds like a bad sci-fi movie to me. With the random vocal screams. Lots of fun layers in the song though. ## "Cloudbusting" 5:10 4* This is a great song. I like the strings, beat, the melody. This sounds a lot like Running up that Hill to me with Kate starting to belt out the chorus and the backing instruments coming in a little later to match her vocal intensity. I love that conflict between the vocals and music. ## "And Dream of Sheep" 2:45 3* Too soft and slow for my taste. The music and production are great. Kate was sampling some radio/TV clips in the song which I don't think was that popular yet in 1985. ## "Under Ice" 2:21 4* Love the opening, I think all the strings are synthesized. The song is about a skater, on ice, all alone. She notices something under the ice, it ends up being the singer--who starts to drown. More sound samples in here that are not overdone. ## "Waking the Witch" 4:18 3* Not my cup of tea. I can hear the artistry, but it's a bit too schizophrenic and abstract for me. ## "Watching You Without Me" 4:06 3* A ghost returns to see live lived without her. Those backward vocals are cool. Interesting synth sounds. I liked this better than most of the other songs I rated as a 3*, so this might even be a low 4*. ## "Jig of Life" 4:04 4* A woman encourages her younger self to fight. I love the fiddles and the driving beat. Great vocals and levels. Fun rhymes and melody. ## "Hello Earth" 6:13 3* Soft, slow, pensive. Not bad, but not my favorite. Great vocals and strings. ## "The Morning Fog" 2:34 3* A good ending to the album, and by now I'm able to see the common thread throughout Kate Bush's songs (at least on this album). Her vocals are great, the production is on point. The drums are usually a big part of the song. I think Cindy Lauper borrowed a lot of style from Bush.
# American Music Club - California While not my favorite style, the fact that this came out in 1988 is incredible. I can see this band's influence and paving the way for bands like Nirvana, Wilco, Radiohead and Gin Blossoms. The the country-rock with some blues thrown in for good measure are strong. The vocals are too pitchy and the production are distractions to me, so I rate this lower than I would if it were more polished. Overall Score: 3* Favorite Tracks: - Lonely - Bad Liquor ## 1. "Firefly" 2:49 2*. Vocals are not my favorite, a bit off-key and lacsadaisical. Too much slide guitar. ## 2. "Somewhere" 3:01 2*. Good guitars, but the levels are a little quiet. Vocals are pitchy. ## 3. "Laughingstock" 4:17 2*. Sounds like indie rock, but the vocals are too pitchy for my liking. ## 4. "Lonely" 2:42 3*. Like the driving bassline here. Favorite song on the album so far. ## 5. "Pale Skinny Girl" 3:33 2*. Haunting guitars but vocals and levels are distracting. ## 6. "Blue and Grey Shirt" 3:33 2*. Decent, but just not my style. Too slide-guitary and sappy for my taste. ## 7. "Bad Liquor" 1:57 3*. Bouncy, blues-style jam. ## 8. "Now You're Defeated" 2:28 2*. Pretty rough recording, vocals are pitchy. Bassline and chord progression are okay, but the song isn't moving me. ## 9. "Jenny" 2:38 2*. Interesting. ## 10. "Western Sky" 3:28 2*. ## 11. "Highway 5" 3:49 3*. Sounds like Radiohead. ## 12. "Last Harbor" 4:35 2*. Sounds like Nirvana, Kansas, Radiohead
# Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading 3* But on the lower end of 3 stars for me. It's just too swoony and disco-pretentious for my tastes. ## "Down to Zero" 3:51 3* Good sound, good voice. Guitars were great. ## "Help Yourself" 4:04 3* A little too disco-swoony for me, but Joan's got a great voice. ## "Water with the Wine" 2:48 3.5* I liked this better than the other songs so far (although Down to Zero might be better?). This is like a honky-tonk mixed with Disco. Interesting combination. ## "Love and Affection" 4:28 2* Not my cup of tea. Too disco-epic and I'm just not a fan of saxophone, it sounds like someone trying too hard to make a whiny sensual song and expecting applause afterward. ## "Save Me" 3:35 3.5* Has a classic sound that was copied a bit in the 90s. Eddie Vedder could have sung over this background and had a huge hit in 1992. But the vocals, while really strong, are just too swoony for me. ## "Join the Boys" 4:48 3* Fun jam. ## "People" 3:30 3* Fun jam. ## "Somebody Who Loves You" 3:33 3* Well produced. The mandolin is a nice touch. Too soft for my taste. ## "Like Fire" 5:12 3* Love the blues feel at the beginning. Not enough for me to get dancing though. ## "Tall in the Saddle" 5:43 3* Country-disco feel. Starts slow and becomes a fun jam.
# Anita Baker, Rapture Released 1986 2-3* just too jazzy/swoony/disco for me. But I will gladly admit that Anita's vocals are top notch and that bass on Same Ole Love is fantastic. ## "Sweet Love" Anita Baker, Louis A. Johnson, Gary Bias 4:26 3* I remember this jam on the radio and it wasn't my favorite at the time. But yeah, the chorus gets you going. ## "You Bring Me Joy" David Lasley 4:24 2* Just too smooth and jazzy for me. ## "Caught Up in the Rapture" Garry Glenn, Dianne Quander 5:17 2* Just too slow for my taste. ## "Been So Long" Baker 5:07 2* Man she's got an incredible voice. The scatting is top notch. Just not my style of music. ## "Mystery" Rod Temperton 4:56 2* Great voice, too jazzy/swoony for me. ## "No One in the World" (Produced by Marti Sharron and Gary Skardina) Ken Hirsch, Marti Sharron 4:10 2* Just sooooo jazzy/swoony. Not my style. ## "Same Ole Love (365 Days a Year)" Marilyn McLeod, Darryl K. Roberts 4:05 3* Probably my second favorite song on the album after Sweet Love. That bass is awesome! Great slapping by Freddie Washington. ## "Watch Your Step" Baker 4:54 3* Great voice, too jazzy for me.
Love that trip-hop sound. These guys weren't on my radar in 1991, but I imagine I would have totally listened to this CD tons on study nights. 4*
# Curtis Mayfield, Super Fly Released 1972. 2*. I love the talent on this album, but not the musical style. ## "Little Child Runnin' Wild" 5:23 2* Okay, it's blues-inspired. Good guitar, strings, vocals. Not something I'd jam out to though. ## "Pusherman" 5:04 2* Provocative, but not my style. Like the bassline. ## "Freddie's Dead" 5:27 2* Not my style, but the band and Curtis are really talented. ## "Junkie Chase" (instrumental) 1:36 2* Not my style. ## "Give Me Your Love (Love Song)" 4:20 3* So familiar, definitely sampled by Snoop Dogg. ## "Eddie You Should Know Better" 2:16 ## "No Thing on Me (Cocaine Song)" 4:53 2* I'm just not into light funk, I guess. ## "Think" (instrumental) 3:43 3* Fun little ditty. ## "Superfly" 3:55 3* Love the bassline and horns on this one. ## "Freddie's Dead (Theme from Superfly)" (single mix) 3:20 2* Same ranking as before. ## "Superfly" (single mix) 3:08 3* Still the best song on the album.
# The Who, The Who Sell out Released 1967 2*, Not a terrible album, but I didn't hear a single song on this album that made me want to save it for listening again. No head-nodders or foot-tappers in the bunch. ## "Armenia City in the Sky" Speedy Keen Daltrey and Keen 3:48 3* Cool psychadelic sound. ## "Heinz Baked Beans" John Entwistle Moon, Entwistle and Townshend 1:00 2* Great horns and the "More Music, More Music" at the end of the track triggered my memory of this being sampled on Young MC's "Roll with the Punches" ## "Mary Anne with the Shaky Hand" Daltrey and Townshend 2:28 2* Too folk-rocksy for me. ## "Odorono" Townshend 2:34 2* Not bad, not great for me. ## "Tattoo" Daltrey, with Townshend 2:51 2* Fun tune. ## "Our Love Was" Townshend 3:23 2* What a great facsimile of the Beach Boys sound! ## "I Can See for Miles" Daltrey 4:05 3* Fun jam. ## "I Can't Reach You" Townshend 3:03 2* Fun jam. But the levels on the instruments seem wrong. ## "Medac" Entwistle Entwistle 0:57 2* Interesting, but doesn't get my head nodding. ## "Relax" Daltrey and Townshend 2:41 2* Not my cup of tea. ## "Silas Stingy" Entwistle Entwistle and Daltrey 3:07 3* Love the harmonies and melody. ## "Sunrise" Townshend 3:06 2* Not bad. ## "Rael (1 and 2)" Daltrey 5:44 2* Beach Boys-esque. ## "Rael 2" Townshend 0:47 2* Okay. ## "Glittering Girl" Townshend, with Entwistle 2:56 3* Not bad. ## "Melancholia" Daltrey 3:17 2* ## "Someone's Coming" Entwistle Daltrey 2:29 3* ## "Jaguar" Entwistle, with Townshend 2:51 2* ## "Early Morning Cold Taxi" Roger Daltrey, Dave Langston Daltrey 2:55 3* ## "In the Hall of the Mountain King" Edvard Grieg Instrumental (with vocalizations from the band) 4:19 2* Very cool song, but just not my style. ## "Girl's Eyes" Keith Moon Moon and Entwistle 3:28 3* Great guitar playing ## "Mary Anne with the Shaky Hand" (Alternative version) Daltrey and Townshend 3:19 3* All right, I guess. ## "Glow Girl" Daltrey and Townshend 2:24 3* Sounds the most like "The Who" sound that I have come to associate with them.
# The Auteurs - Show Girl Overall Score: 2.86 -> 3 Favorite Tracks: - Subculture (Hidden Track) - Early Years - Junk Shop Clothes - Housebreaker - Show Girl ## "Show Girl" - 4:06 3.5*. Catchy, great levels and vocals. ## "Bailed Out" - 3:44 2*. Good levels and production. Just missing some driving force in the song. ## "American Guitars" - 3:31 3*. Driving, fun. ## "Junk Shop Clothes" - 2:42 3.5*. Wonderful. Great duet between the piano and acoustic guitar. Vocals are perfect. A bit Beatles-esque. ## "Don't Trust the Stars" - 2:25 3*. Great driving drums. Bassline is very good. Vocals are too breathy for me to give it a higher score. ## "Starstruck" - 2:59 2*. Nice. ## "How Could I Be Wrong" - 3:53 3*. Catchy. ## "Housebreaker" - 2:57 3*. Catchy. ## "Valet Parking" - 2:55 2*. Chill. I like the bells (xylophone?) on this track. Good lead guitar. ## "Idiot Brother" - 5:45 3*. Good alternative sound. ## "Early Years" - 2:40 3.5*. Good alternative sound. ## "Home Again" - 3:24 / 2*. Not bad, but repetitive a bit to me. ## "Subculture (They Can't Find Him)" - 2:13 (hidden track; it follows 20 seconds of silence after the end of "Home Again") 3.5* I love hidden tracks! This one is super catchy. My favorite track on the album.
# Deep Purple, Deep Purple in Rock Released 1970 4.5* I haven't heard any of these songs before...more's the pity. ## 1. "Speed King" 5:54 4* This song rocks! Love the guitar and drums. Loud and heavy, psychadelic distortion. Love the levels and dynamism of fading out and coming back HARD!!! ## 2. "Bloodsucker" 4:16 4* Another amazing song! The vocals and guitar and drums and bass and keyboard, oh my!!! Why have I never heard this song before?! ## 3. "Child in Time" 10:20 3* Starts off slow. Long jam with some fun dynamics. Not my favorite on the album though. ## 4. "Flight of the Rat" 7:57 3* Fun jam, great guitars and drums, but not as good as the first 2 songs. ## 5. "Into the Fire" 3:30 4* Fun jam again. Great sound. ## 6. "Living Wreck" 4:34 4* That drum intro! ## 7. "Hard Lovin' Man" 7:11 4* Hard rocking driving.
# Beatles, White Album 5*. I think this is the first 5* album for me on Album a Day. My favorite songs: Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da While My Guitar Gently Weeps Dear Prudence Back in the U.S.S.R. Blackbird ## 1. \"Back in the U.S.S.R.\" McCartney 2:43 5* Slaps. Great guitar, piano, vocals. Background vocals are fun too. Some great audio tricks in the track that sound at home in modern-day like the ending electronic whistle. Sort of a play on Back in the USA. ## 2. \"Dear Prudence\" Lennon 3:56 5* Love the bassline and the acoustic guitar/sitar on top. The guitar licks over the top are great too! So good! ## 3. \"Glass Onion\" Lennon 2:18 4* I wasn't very familiar with this song and I really liked it. ## 4. \"Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da\" McCartney 3:08 5* Might be my favorite on this album. That bassline....the drums, how can you not start nodding or dancing. Sooooo great! I learned that this was McCartney's attempt at ska. John and George hated the song, calling it \"Granny music.\" ## 5. \"Wild Honey Pie\" McCartney 0:52 2* Just a weird song. A jam the group had in India, just recorded it out of boredom. ## 6. \"The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill\" Lennon, with Yoko Ono 3:14 4* Inspired by the band's trip to India. Only track in the Beatles' catalog that features background vocals from Yoko Ono, who offered musical advice to the other members of the band. ## 7. \"While My Guitar Gently Weeps\" (George Harrison) Harrison 4:45 5* I've always loved this song. Great guitars wailing away. Eric Clapton played lead guitar on the solo. Clapton was the only guest artist to ever contribute a guitar solo to a Beatles album. Loved that he chastises himself in the lyrics. ## 8. \"Happiness Is a Warm Gun\" Lennon 2:47 4* Banned on the radio because it was thought it was advertising drugs. It took 70 takes to record this song, with all the tempo changes. It's like an opera with different movements and style changes. I hadn't noticed this before. ## 9. \"Martha My Dear\" McCartney 2:28 3* Not as great as the others, but really good. ## 10. \"I'm So Tired\" Lennon 2:03 4* Recorded in India. ## 11. \"Blackbird\" McCartney 2:18 5* Love it. I didn't realize it was about the ending of racism in America. ## 12. \"Piggies\" (Harrison) Harrison 2:04 3* Loosley based on Animal Farm but instead of focusing on communism, he lampoons capitalism. ## 13. \"Rocky Raccoon\" McCartney 3:33 4* Based on American folk music. Catchy. ## 14. \"Don't Pass Me By\" (Richard Starkey) Starr 3:51 3* Ringo wrote this one! His first song. Country sound, but weaker vocals. ## 15. \"Why Don't We Do It in the Road?\" McCartney 1:41 3* Paul wrote this after seeing two monkeys have sex in the middle of the road in India. ## 16. \"I Will\" McCartney 1:46 4* McCartney's song to his future love interest. One of Pauls' best reviewed songs. ## 17. \"Julia\" Lennon 2:57 4* One of Dave Grohl's favorite Beatles songs. John's deceased mother was named Julia, and this song is about his love for his mother and to his new love Yoko Ono. ## 18. \"Birthday\" McCartney with Lennon 2:42 4* Just a jam between McCartney and Lennon. I don't remember how good the song gets after the initial verse. ## 19. \"Yer Blues\" Lennon 4:01 3* Fun song, but Lennon wasn't having fun, hence to why he says he's so lonely he wants to die. ## 20. \"Mother Nature's Son\" McCartney 2:48 2* Upbeat acoustic song about living in nature. ## 21. \"Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey\" Lennon 2:24 4* A wild rock song by Lennon, that he considered a throwaway. ## 22. \"Sexy Sadie\" Lennon 3:15 2* Originally about the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who made an inappropriate pass at one of Lennon's friends: Mia Farow. ## 23. \"Helter Skelter\" McCartney 4:30 4* Paul tries to make a raunchy, loud rock and roll song. Based on the name of a fairground ride. Charles Manson thought it was a prediction of an apocolypse between blacks and whites. They played so long their voices were cracking and you can hear Ringo saying, \"I've got blisters on my fingers.\" ## 24. \"Long, Long, Long\" (Harrison) Harrison 3:08 2* Pretty. ## 25. \"Revolution 1\" Lennon 4:15 4* Not as good as the one I grew up with. ## 26. \"Honey Pie\" McCartney 2:41 4* Catchy. ## 27. \"Savoy Truffle\" (Harrison) Harrison 2:54 4* George wrote this song for Eric Clapton who was said to eat too much chocolate. ## 28. \"Cry Baby Cry\" Lennon, with McCartney 3:02 3* Nice. ## 29. \"Revolution 9\" Speaking from Lennon, Harrison, Ono and George Martin 8:15 1* Too psychadelic for me. Yoko made it get weird. ## 30. \"Good Night\" Starr 3:14 3* Nice orchestra sound. Lullaby for Julian, sung by Ringo.
