1001 Albums Summary

One of my favourite albums of all time - loved it from my very first listen - my introduction to The Strokes and it changed my life! There's something in Julian Casablancas' vocals that compliments the music so well, and I love the understated chord structures.. it just reeks of effortless cool. To a 90's child growing up around boybands and other like-music coming out at the time, this was a breath of fresh air... I will always come back to this album.

Love the vibes, some of it makes me wanna get up and dance! This album makes me want to learn Spanish! Great addition to the music collection.

Kinda innovative in a way, and unique style of vocals, but not my cup of tea ..

An audio assault in terms of engineering, very repetitive after a while... It also makes me wonder what it would've sounded like had it been recorded & produced with today's equipment...

Interesting, I like this.. kinda kooky, very melodic. It reminds me of The Rocky Horror Picture Show for some reason - it could be the flamboyant vibe it gives off. Fun times!

Enjoyed the groove of this album!

I can understand why Husker Dü were such an influence on Dave Grohl! Although I'm not the biggest fan of the singer's voice, I'm still happy to have been introduced!

She was a firework of an artist. The grittiest voice (if that's even a word) from a female artist I've ever heard! Iconic
