A little too happy/bouncy for me, until the last two songs. I guess I prefer my big beat kind of dark and angry. I actually thought Fatboy Slim was the only big beat producer until I read the wiki yesterday. Also filed under TIL - the origin of "big beat" and that they removed the large American on the album for the American audience lol.

Bossanova by Pixies
Nov 06 2023

Still have never seen a javelina, besides zoos. I daresay a perfect album?

Tommy by The Who
Nov 07 2023

Maybe i need more listens or have to see the musical or something. Not feeling this.

Nov 08 2023

This whole album seems to be at the same frequency as my tinnitus. Seemed to get better after a few listens. Cool solos with weird sounds.

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Nov 09 2023

Way less cheesy than I expected with pants like that. Rocked pretty hard.

Nov 13 2023

Solid album, I had only heard the hits before. Has anything bad ever come out of Wesleyan?

Pretenders by Pretenders
Nov 14 2023

'80s childhood trauma vibes

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Nov 27 2023

Never heard this full album before, only the hits from it on The Ultimate Experience greatest hits. Some of the tracks on here seem kind of random, but the rest are 🔥🔥

British Steel by Judas Priest
Nov 28 2023

Not everything from the '80s needs to brought back. Sometimes what happened in the '80s should stay in the '80s.

Heroes by David Bowie
Nov 29 2023

Maybe I need more listens, but not feeling this one. Bowie has some gems (Space Oddity), but in general is pretty painful to listen to for me.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Nov 30 2023

Never heard of them before. They sound exactly like the Beatles (in a good way) to me. Good stuff.

Dec 14 2023

Thought I liked Mingus, but this is a little chaotic/random for me. Feels like some kind of big band free jazz and I've always struggled to get into most free jazz. But it has some nice "noir" moments, evoking alcoholic detectives trudging down rainy alleyways. Must explore Mingus more - it's possible I'd only heard his early stuff.

Horses by Patti Smith
Dec 15 2023

Never really heard Patti Smith before, but I'm feeling this.
