1001 Albums Summary

Some bangers, some Meh. Liked this when it came out - an underwhelming Glastonbury performance put me off. Don’t leave it 13 years next time!

Singles great. Some other good tracks. Few meh.

5 - love Kate Bush and this is peak Kate Bush.

Just not into this at all. The singing is ok, at times, but the melodies are dull.

What a voice. The band/ backing vocals add to every song. Even the songs I've never heard are great. The tone on every instrument is incredible.

Love it. 6/5 bangers from start to finish. Can’t believe it’s 20 years old!

Pop royalty. Conteasting this with ABBA is night and day. Taylor is a boss story teller.

sing along to the first track and then meh. it's alright but just not my thing. Gimme the car (bonus track) is a bit... erm... dificult to listen to.

Strong first half but the album sort of fades out. Love her voice, the guitar and the melodies.

Not as 'southern' as I expected, a solid rock album. Wide influences and some great tracks.

I'm sure this is objectivley good but as a first time listener to big band swing it seems so over done. Sounds lie every movie sound track of my childhood. I'm sure Count Basie did it first but in 2023 it seems trite.

Knew lots of these songs, ut ot these verisons (Don;t buy bootlegs kids!). Realy interesting influences and some here and some great playing. Bob is a gateway drug for reggae, great album. my only critisicism it is doesn;t seem like an album, more a colelction of songs.

Absolute banger. Wish I had seen them in the 90s but they blew me away in 2004ish. Bangers form start to finish.

Loved the down tempo FLC sounding tracks. Not keen on the uptempo tracks. Too varied for me.

Love FKAs voice, love the production but the songs are missing something. It all sounds amazing but it’s all forgettable. Would defiantly search out more of her work.

Neil Young has a prolific career and i know a lot, but previosuly not this album. Love this.

banger of an album – but maybe a few songs too long

I struggle with jazz – I couldn’t actually get through this. She;s clearly a great singer – but the songs are dull.

can't get into this. references too obscure, experimental in sound whilst formulaic in structure.

Never heard this before- wasn’t expecting a lot. Was very surprised. This is a stone cold banger- ballads aside.

Some good tracks but all the tracks are similar. It’s a few tracks too long. Great bass sound though.

Really odd first track choice. I like Willie, and I like this album (hadn’t heard most of it before) but I question a covers album on the 1001 albums of all Time.
