Live! by Fela Kuti
Jan 05 2024

Although way out of my normal listening genre, I did like this album quite a bit. Particularly the first two tracks. I like the overall style of everything on it, but for just general listening, the tracks are a bit long. But I listen to this, and I think of when I was much younger and going to some smoky club, drinking cheap whiskey on the rocks and just getting into the music. this would have been really, really cool. Not sure I could've found it anywhere near where I lived, maybe a place or two but it would've been tough. But I hardly ever go to clubs anymore. I drink much better whiskey. But I'd still like to find a place live to hear music like this.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Jan 09 2024

This was a new experience for me. Vaguely familiar with Van Halen but can't say I've listened to them before. Can definitely play guitar. Can understand the lyrics which I always appreciate. Not exactly in my wheelhouse but not too bad.

Jan 10 2024

Haven't listened to Sam Cooke quite some time. Enjoy this quite a bit. Always liked his music

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Jan 12 2024

Another one that I would say, is not for me. The name of the group, "rage against the machine," I think is an apt description as their style seems to be very angry. Some parts that are just instrumental, I kind of like, but not enough to overcome the vocal style.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Jan 15 2024

I confess I was totally oblivious to the Talking Heads in the 70s and later. Not sure I had a real reason for that but that's the way it was. Compared to the last two albums, this one is certainly easier to listen to from my perspective. I can't see it was overly inspiring but pleasant enough. It's not something I would seek out, however.

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Jan 16 2024

I'VE HEARD OF THE BEASTIE BOYS PREVIOUSLY, BUT NEVER HAVE. I LISTENED TO THEM BEFORE. I WAS EXPECTING SOME KIND OF SCREECHING ROCK VOCALS, WHICH I DON'T NORMALLY GO FOR. INSTEAD, I GET THIS RATHER COOL AND FUNKY JAZZ SOUND. I LOVE IT. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT ON Spotify only a handful of the tunes on this album/CD were actually available. What's up with that?.

Jan 17 2024

I wonder why never listen to much Queen in the past. Most of what I've heard not just on this CD/album but in reviewing other things as well is that they're just kind of fun. A little weird, but fun.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Jan 19 2024

Interesting and different. There are parts that I have enjoyed quite a bit and a few that I've listened to for a bit and then skip them. I'm not exactly in my wheelhouse, but I've listened to them again

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Jan 22 2024

Haven't listened to Simon & Garfunkel in a very long time. I remember first hearing them in the mid 1960s. I had forgotten just how good of voice Art Garfunkel has. Very enjoyable.

remember some of these disco faves. 😁

1989 by Taylor Swift
Jan 29 2024

Swift has talent. This is true. but the contents/genre just isn't for me. I'm the wrong gender and way too old.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jan 30 2024
The Predator by Ice Cube
Feb 01 2024

Spotify would not play because of \"explicit lyrics\" for which reason it should receive a 1/2 star at best

Mask by Bauhaus
Feb 02 2024
The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Feb 06 2024

this was amazing. It's the kind of music I was hoping to hear in this little expirement.

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Feb 15 2024

Becoming disillusioned with this project. Most of the albums have been crap. There have been several that I would have given negative ratings for if I could have. This particular one isn't horrid but it's not a group that I would listen to again.

Fred Neil by Fred Neil
Feb 16 2024

OK, SO THIS ALBUM KIND OF REDEEMED THINGS, BUT STILL THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF THE ALBUMS THAT I'VE BEEN GIVEN TO LISTEN TO. I WOULD NEVER SEEK OUT AGAIN. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF FRED NEAL BEFORE. IT WAS INTERESTING TO SEE, READ ABOUT OTHER ARTIST THAT HE INFLUENCED. Overall this moon was pretty good. And again here is where the ability do a half star would be really nice because I believe this is better than a three star but not a four star.

Revolver by Beatles
Feb 19 2024

The Beatles are just wonderful. They did so much to change the face, or perhaps I should say the sound of popular music. Of course, they were influenced by people like Buddy Holly, but their influence is so far reaching. Never listen to this particular album before. New number of the songs on it already. Yes, I would definitely listen to this one again.

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Feb 21 2024

This album reminds me of a lot of the things coming out in the mid 60s British invasion period. It's not bad, certainly better than a lot of the offerings that have been given. Not sure I would seek them out, but I'd listen to them if they came on randomly.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Feb 23 2024

Although it sounded kind of dark, This was kind of interesting. There were parts of it that reminded me of Johnny Cash, others that reminded me of Kris Kristofferson,
