I have a ton of respect for Jeff Buckley as a guitarist, but I'm not really a fan of his music, overall. I'm not even really sure what to call his style because it was kind of all over the place, but you can tell he was very talented. Extra star because his rendition of 'Hallelujah' is beautiful.
Classic 50s sound! Louis is one of a kind. His songs are what I think of when someone says '50s music'. Bonus star for "Jump, Jive an' Wail" and a song about being a gigolo.
Arguably one of the best classic rock albums ever recorded. Just about every song is a gem. Essential listening, for certain!
This album is a classic, with a couple of the most iconic 90s rap songs on it... but... when you actually sit and listen to it all the way through, it's got way more misses than hits.
Given the fact that this was her debut album and she was 19 at the time, this is pretty decent. Much as I generally like old skool hip-hop and rap, Queen Latifah isn't really my cup of tea, but I can respect it.
Overall, I dig it. classic 70s 'heavy rock' vibes with some progressive/bluesy moments. They are a bit 'jam bandy' at times, but very talented and pleasant to listen to the (albeit rather long) solos. Each song is around 10mins long! Sheesh. The back and forth between the guitar and lyrics during 'Strange kind of Woman' was... annoying. These guys were certainly on a really interesting cocktail of drugs during some of these performances/recordings. Bonus star for Smoke on the Water -- the second-shortest song on the album.
Arcade Fire is one of those bands that I would put on a 'chill party background music' playlist. Their stuff is fine, but it's nothing exciting. It doesn't make me feel anything. It's just kind of... there. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Bonus star because this album does include one of my favorite Arcade Fire songs, if it's possible to have one -- 'Wake Up'. I like the intro.
Honestly an all-time-favorite of mine. Their music isn't necessarily masterful or technically amazing, but Tom Morello's creativity with a guitar is awesome and their passion is honest and invigorating. I feel like I could run through a brick wall after listening to several tracks on this album. I also don't necessarily agree with all their political beliefs -- but as a kid, their anger was powerful and fueled my 'question everything/question authority' mindset I still have today. Before my exposure to this kind of music, I believed that government, police, military, etc. were without a doubt, 'the good guys'. Hah.
I remember listening to this album a lot when I was a teenager. In hindsight, I think I was mostly listening to it because everyone else was. Eminem is insanely talented and I think he's one of the best rappers to ever do it - but this album doesn't really showcase his strengths all that much, in my opinion. He shows off his lyrical flow and dense rhyme schemes a bit, but the whole album just kind of feels like a joke, with the exception of 'Stan'. It's very nostalgic, but there wasn't a single track where I said to myself, 'damn, I forgot how good this song is'.
Well, that was underwhelming, boring, meandering, and pretty lame, overall. I'd never heard of Slint before, and now I see why.
Agreeable. Pleasant. Nothing particularly special, but easy to listen to. I thought I had heard almost every song before, but turns out I had never heard any of them.
This was certainly an interesting listen, and while I can appreciate Jazz music, it's just not really my thing. I laughed at "I'm so horny the crack of dawn better be careful around me"
It's rush. Pretty much exactly what I expected, couple of classic hits

Felt like I was watching a 'silent' Peanuts cartoon. Or I was sitting in a swanky lounge sipping on an old fashioned, complaining about how my investments ain't doin' so hot lately. Overall, I enjoyed it. Good background music.
In the words of Joe Pesci... "what the fuck is this piece of shit?"
Good stuff -- funky, fun, easy to listen to. A modern classic.
Bold of them to put Tiny Dancer as the first track. The rest of it was pretty forgettable. Also wtf was Indian Sunset? O_o I kept checking to see how much time I had left until it was over. No disrespect to Sir Elton... I just didn't love it.
There were a few 'misses' on here, but mostly hits. Classic early 70s rock. Gotta love it.
Not bad, not great. I knew a few of the songs but wasn't excited to listen to them when they came on and I recognized them. Decent background music at an otherwise lame cafe.
Meh. Never really 'got' their music. Gave this an honest listen, and I still don't get it. It's not terrible, but, I don't get the hype. It's also worth mentioning that I'm generally not a fan of 80s music.
I legitimately loathed every second of this. Fuck.
This was... fine. I just kept thinking it sounded like pre-Daft Punk. I generally like electronic music but this was kinda meh, to be honest.
It's Kendrick. I kinda like it, kinda don't. Similar tp newer Kanye in that way. His work is very 'artistic' and I don't always 'get it' and that's okay. Respect, but, it's not something I'm super into, personally.
Meh. Radiohead. Boring, whiny, repetitive. Weird, but not in a good way. It's not the worst thing I've ever heard, but, I'd never choose to listen to this.
