1001 Albums Summary

well i've never been a fan of the beastie boys to start with. this is the kind of music my father blasts in the car when he wants to annoy me lol. i'm just not a fan of whatever you would call the beastie boys hip-hop rock genre. however, this album brings back lots of memories so that gives it extra points from me. new york jewish boy swag will never die. i appreciate how the album blends together and the chords. the lyrics are also goofy. alot of it sounds like it's straight out of a spongebob episode. stand out song: shadrach. overall would not relisten not my type of music xx

obviously very different from the beastie boys, but again this record brings back lots of memories with my dad again. however i prefer red hot chili peppers over the beastie boys. that doesn't mean i'm a fan however, i still am not too fond of them. i was really not in the mood for this today, so i got halfway through. standout song: californication. the popular songs on the album were the best opposed to the b side tracks.

i honestly have always had a love for 90s rnb and rap just amazing so of course i know lauryn hill. music used to be amazing. and this genre has had a great influence on todays rnb. she has such a beautiful voice which makes this album very enjoyable. i don't have a standout song i really enjoyed them all equally. however i love the song with mary j blige. overall very solid album. i don't really have much else to say.

my before hand thoughts- no i am absolutely not listening to this. i'm about to pull up the album on my computer. anddd now it's playing. i don't really know what to say about aretha franklin- like it's fucking aretha franklin i can't talk shit on her but this is not my type of music... this is grandma black church radio music. so i do not think i will make it past the first three tracks. of course i appreciate soul music but i would never listen to it on my own. i think it's very satisfying to listen to. but after this first track, i think i might have to turn it off. i can't listen to too much of this at once not something i would ever really listen to... beautiful voice though! thank you 🎀

hai okay ending my day with this album i guess... two songs in i'm enjoying it so far. but those are also the most popular songs on the album so i'm not sure how good the others are. i don't know how to feel about this album. i feel like it could be better but it could also be way way worse. stand out song: death of a party & strange news from another star. deep fucking lyrics. and i like the chords on strange news from another star its really good. actually i like strange news from another star a million times more. very good song. anyways i don't like the vocals but i like the music. thank you!

oh ive already listened to this album in the past. not exactly my cup of tea but clocks is top 10 songs aot. i also like god put a smile upon your face.
