Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jan 17 2024

have really been into jazz lately and was excited for this, especially as it was my first album with this project but alas, not for me

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jan 18 2024

have loved certain songs from this album for a long time (pyramids, lost, and pink matter) but never listened all the way through. some new faves this time around: sweet life, monks, bad religion

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jan 19 2024

I'm so glad I was introduced to this album! It's impossible to have not heard of the Rolling Stones, but I somehow went my entire life without actively listening to them. This is a long album, so it took quite a few full listens to feel I really knew my way around it, although I still feel like there's more to discover. What I really like about this album is the blend of genres and influences - blues, country, rock - had no idea the Stones were so bluesy! Favorite songs (so far): Sweet Virginia, Loving Cup, Let It Loose, Shine a Light

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Jun 25 2026

never heard of this before but really digging it. will be a great album to put on when I need to dig in and get a task done. fave tracks: funky shit, narayan, climbatize

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Jun 26 2026

this does nothing for me. trying to be too many things / feels like a poor imitation of something in the world music category

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jun 29 2026

This album was ubiquitous in my college days so it gets some nostalgia stars. There are some catchy melodies. Their sound is also unique and they clearly made their mark on indie music with this album. I just wish it was slightly less repetitive sounding, and even after multiple listens all the way through, many songs felt indistinguishable or forgettable. New favorite song with these recent listens: Too Afraid to Love You

Pearl by Janis Joplin

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Jul 01 2026

My first introduction to Baaba Maal. I enjoyed Yela and Daniibe, the rest on this album was meh. Listened to some of his other work and I really enjoyed his collabs with Mumford and Sons and Ludwig Goransson on the Wakanda soundtrack.

Tapestry by Carole King
