1001 Albums Summary

I had heard most of these songs as original recordings and just a few as first-time listens by Cash. A lot of the covers I like better. Cash’s voice and vocal style has a depth that you know comes from the pits of life that he, himself, has pulled himself out of, or been pulled out of by loved ones, by God. And that’s what makes these recordings just so good.

I really wanted to love this album but it was just okay. I don’t know that I would choose any of the songs to listen to again although they weren’t bad. And I like the style of music and this genre but I just wasn’t feeling it.
