The Bends by Radiohead
Feb 05 2024

Fun as hell. Coming off the back off the new smile album, and having never listened to this one before, it's really interesting. Never gone this far back in the radiohead discography, it's rock and roll baybeee. No max/msp patches in this one, just pedals, amps and microphones. I like it, but it's not perfect. Some kinda yuck moments in here (thinking about the doodoodoodooo bit in the bends title track). High and dry hits different because of the Jamie Cullum CD my parents had in rotation back in the day.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Feb 13 2024

Grows on you? Can't really listen to the lyrics, which is what I understand to be the best thing about this album. Dylan's voice is hell funny. Oompah first song sucks though.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Feb 14 2024

Let's fucking gooooooo. Gorgeous instrumentation, certified boppers on here, Mayfield's voice is golden.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Feb 15 2024

It's a 5. Perfect album from start to finish. It's soulful, it's funky, it has everything you could want. The grooves on some of these tracks are all-timers, the instrumentation is lush and it's just a good time.

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo

I want some of your brown boogers (doodoodoo) Another 5.
