White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Feb 22 2024

It's a solid rock album, with some great riffs and memorable lyrics. But it's a very bare bones sound, with little nuance or surprises

In Utero by Nirvana
Feb 23 2024

Very iconic guitar riffs, with lots of good dynamic control. Lyrics are abstract but evocative. Lots of dissonance in each song, which can be unpleasant after a while. Heavy sound, which is not my fave. But that's a personal preference, not a comment on the quality of the music.

Arrival by ABBA
Feb 26 2024

Dancing Queen is an incredible song. The album is decent, but that song is so joyous and freeing. ABBA has had better albums, though.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Feb 27 2024

This is an amazing album. I grew up with it. It's one of my favorites. The harmonies, the guitar, the complexity of some of the songs, and the simplicity of others. It's all so magical.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Feb 28 2024

Absolutely gorgeous. Willie Nelson has a lovely voice and tells a compelling story throughout the album. A beautiful homage to Americana and the oral traditions within country music.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Feb 29 2024

I was surprised with how much I liked this album. It's not as heavy as I thought it would be. Love that they had a softer song (Planet Caravan) and War Pigs/Luke's Wall is so iconic. Amazing vocals by Ozzy and great guitar!

Homework by Daft Punk
Mar 04 2024

Around the World is a timeless bop. The rest of the album felt a little like kids trying out Garage Band for the first time.

Mar 05 2024

Not for me! It had some good moments, though. It was cinematic and beautiful at times. The lyrics just didn't hit.

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Mar 07 2024

He has a strong voice - but this music was sort of creepy? It had an unnerving quality that I didn't enjoy.

Throwing Muses by Throwing Muses
Mar 08 2024

I liked this a lot! And the album made me finally check out Liz phair who I now love.
