Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Mar 01 2024

1. Classic. Nothing to add. 2. Better than Blister in the Sun. Better lyrics, more varied instrumentation. 3. I remember hating this song when I was younger listening to this album. I don't like it but it's not as bad as I remember. It's a bit like the reggae songs on Bad Brains' self-titled. 4. The best song on the album musically. Lyrics are meh, but still slaps. 5. The "hurry" part sucks, HARD. Rest is fine if forgettable. 6. Another of the folk-punk songs. Hook's great, still remember it after 4 years. 7. By the numbers, but catchy as hell. 8. Probably the best, thickest bassline on the album. Fun song. 9. plinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplinplin 10. Sleep-inducing in a good way. Nice piano and violin. Overall album rating: 8/10

Mar 03 2024

Knights of Cydonia is great. The rest is decent at best and mind-numbing at worst. Soldier's Poem sounds like if Radiohead covered Orange Juice. Somehow this is not a great song. Overall rating: 4/10

S&M by Metallica

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Mar 05 2024

Classic art pop album. Not her best work(that goes to her sophomore) but well-worth a listen.

Sea Change by Beck
Mar 06 2024

Not a bad album but didn't really click with me.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Mar 09 2024

It's ABBEY FUCKING ROAD. Overall rating: 10/10

Third by Portishead
Mar 10 2024

More Portishead. Not as good as Dummy but better than the self-titled.

Mar 13 2024

The biggest flaw with this album is that it isn't longer. Banger after banger, one of the best albums from an era filled with great post-punk and new wave.

Songs From A Room by Leonard Cohen
Mar 15 2024

The mouth harp is pretty bad. The rest is typical LC quality stuff.

Tommy by The Who
Mar 16 2024

1: Good song, I like the arrangement. 2: Important for the narrative, I guess but unremarkable otherwise. 3: Instrumentation is nice but production is a bit wonky. 4: Weird lyrics. Last minute or two is great. 5: Feels both understated and epic at the same time. Pretty damn good. 6: Lyrics feel off. 7: Not a fan of those backing vocals. Rest is fine. 8: Disney villain song, with all that brings. 9/10: Fantastic. Best song on the album so far. 11/12: Feels a bit... insensitive. 13: Killer riff. Second best song so far. 14/15: Fun songs. 16: Nice bass. 17: Don't like the vocals. 18: Trumpet! 19: Forgettable. 20: Nice piano. 21: Meh. 22: A bit boring. 23: ????? 24: I can absolutely understand this given the last song. Actually, it's p. good. I don't like a lot of rock operas, they more often than not sound cheesy and a bit pretentious at times, and Tommy, while a fun record doesn't change my perception of the concept. Overall rating: 6/10
