Live! by Fela Kuti
Apr 15 2024

I’m sure being there when it was recorded would have been a mindblowing experience, but recorded, it feels tedious, relegated to ambience at a hipster cafe that insists on playing vinyl slightly too loud.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Apr 25 2024

Goddamn did Elvis write a lot of the exact same song. It’s a pretty GOOD song but i wouldn’t listen to 12 of remixes of a band’s one hit wonder in a row, and this is only marginally better ;)

Djam Leelii by Baaba Maal
Jan 22 2025

This is inscrutable to me. Is it good? Bad? I am neither qualified nor culturally versed to answer this.

Dare! by The Human League

The Next Day by David Bowie
Mar 15 2025

Bowie’s not my favourite ALBUM writer, so thin that context, some standouts, but also some weak and directionless tracks. The album at least feels thematically consistent, and it gets some credit for that, even if some moments let it down. A little surprised I’d never heard ‘Set the world on fire’ before, it’s a banger.

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Mar 19 2025

I liked it

Is This It by The Strokes
Mar 23 2025

I don’t think this aged well. Last Night is the best/most dynamic song here, but the rest are pretty eh

Mar 26 2025

Had never heard of this prior, it’s not bad. Title track is the only real memorable song once all is said and done though.

The Clash by The Clash
Mar 28 2025

Pretty ok, but I didn’t find it that memorable.
