I thought "Unhappy Birthday" was a fun song, something that I just wasn't expecting. I liked all of the song titles, they felt unique. "Death's Elbow" felt like a fun cowboy jaunt, which felt oddly fitting since I'm playing Red Dead Redemption 2 right now.

Live At The Star Club, Hamburg by Jerry Lee Lewis
May 02 2024

I knew before listening that Jerry Lee Lewis is known for boogie woogie, but it still felt a little repetitive. I can tell that he's a fantastic performer, but the music itself felt like it could have used some variety. That's why "Your Cheating Heart" was my favourite part of the album, because it felt like things were allowed to breathe a bit.

Larks' Tongues In Aspic by King Crimson
Jul 15 2024

I loved Book Of Saturday, but most of the other songs weren't for me. I don't know if it's because they were all upwards of seven minutes, but it felt a bit bloated.

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Jul 18 2024

"Don't" was absolutely awful. I actually jolted out of my seat a bit when the screaming started. The rest of the album was okay, and I quite liked "Freak Scene". I'm not a savant of alt-rock, so maybe I just need to broaden my horizons a bit.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Nov 06 2024

I thought this one was cool! I really liked She Is Mine, wasn't expecting to hear a saxophone in that one. Reminded me very much of Green Day

Opus Dei by Laibach
Nov 13 2024

It’s completely outside my comfort zone, but I thought it was really cool! I could do without the Queen covers, though

Soul Mining by The The
Nov 14 2024

Nice! Never heard of this band before, but they have a really interesting sound. I'll be listening to more of them.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Nov 18 2024

I liked it! I’ve never listened to much Prince but this convinced me to check out more of his music

Suede by Suede
Nov 21 2024

I learned what Britpop is, because I looked up this album on Wikipedia. Apparently it’s a movement that emphasized Britishness and it’s bright, catchy alternative rock. Learned something new. As for the album itself, I loved it. This is the kind of band that I wished I discovered when I was a kid.

Skylarking by XTC
Dec 03 2024

Never heard of this group, but I liked them a lot! Grass is going in my downloads

Teenage Head by Flamin' Groovies
Dec 04 2024

This one was okay, I was surprised when I looked up the reviews and saw how good they were when this album came out. It just felt like standard garage-rock/british invasion sound, like they were trying to be the Rolling Stones. I wouldn't listen to this one again.

The Doors by The Doors
Jan 16 2025

I thought the album was pretty good, but I don't understand why this is considered one of the best albums of all time. I saw that "The End", the closing song on the album, was considered one of the greatest songs of all time. Maybe psychedelic rock just isn't my thing? I thought it was way too long, but maybe this sort of thing was groundbreaking at the time.
