Spacey and atmospheric. Like getting stuck inside a computer. I should listen to more radiohead; they're weirder than I thought. Overall don't know if any individual song really grabbed me but this would be a great album to throw on while working or driving or something.
Also The National Anthem sounds like mouse got loose in the brass section (in a fun way)
Undeniably an impressive album. Much of it isn't really my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed Sunday Morning and Heroin.
Not what I usually listen to but very musically impressive. The whole thing has just great sound to it. Mannish Boy is phenomenal
Great album. Synchronicity II is probably my favorite. King of Pain is up there too. Also appreciate the ability to work Brontosaurus into a rhyme scheme
Very pretty and gentle album
Eh, not really my vibe atm. Obviously technically impressive, but it has a gentle sleepiness to it that just isn't what I'm looking for? I'm sure I'll feel differently at different points in my life
Honestly I feel like I like the parts of this album more than what they become. The songs are full of cool sounds and experimentation but all put together, I just feel like it gets a bit incoherent and meandering
Its definitely well made, but I think I'm just not a huge Prince fan? I think I just find many of his songs a little long and repetitive. Like I wish they swelled more, and changed tempo. But the synthy rock is fun. 1999 was probably my favorite track on the album
Some very intriguing sounds build into a very morose album. I do like parts of it, but it's not going to enter my rotation any time soon. I think The Rip may have been my favorite? Reminds me a lot of St Vincent
Good album, a lot of the roughness that I like about the Stones. The general sound feels more American than the rest of their work. It's not exactly my style, but it's an interesting span of blues into rock. I think Tumbling Dice is my favorite of the bunch.
Listening to this feels like I'm playing a video game where I explore Paris. Or like I'm watching a '50s thriller. Honestly I really enjoy it. It's exciting and variable and tense and interesting. This would be the perfect soundtrack for a Tintin video game, which I now very much want to play
Really enjoyed the album, even if no one track stood out as a favorite. I don't really know what to say other than I like the mix of instruments, and he did a great job of keeping each song interesting in a way that I can't really put to words
Some songs that I enjoy, but I tend to find a lot of metal a bit boring? I think it's just not my thing, but it tends to feel a bit long and tiring at times. The heavy guitar in particular stands out as something I wish were different. I just don't get the same emotions from it that some others do. That being said, my favorites were Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters (not exactly original on my end lol)
Not a huge fan. I feel like I don't like the balancing? I don't have the words for it but the sound feels shallow? It also feels like the music is older than it is, which isn't a huge issue or anything, but it just surprises me that the band isn't 10-20 years older than it actually is
She's got a good voice, but I feel like a lot of her music blends together. It's very morose and wispy, and the songs don't really stand out from one another. I did like the guitar in Yosemite, and I like the vocals in small amounts, but overall it gets a bit boring
I know and like Movin' on up, and initially I was not a fan of the subsequent tracks, but as the album went on, I feel like it got a little more experimental which I did enjoy. It didn't end up being what I expected, but it's not a bad set of songs
Hard to top Can You Get to That, but the rest of the album is a lot of fun too. I generally enjoyed the whole thing, and it was a good fix of funk and psychedelic rock. Definitely zoned out a bit more during some tracks, but it didn't take away from the album
I was excited for this, knowing only Mother and Child Reunion and Me and Julio, but honestly none of the others have really jumped out to me the way those two do. I enjoy the interesting mix of the sounds, and all the songs are good, but I think I'm just picky about ballads. I do like the folk-ier parts, and I feel like the album picks up as it leans into those toward the end
Really enjoyable listen. No substantive notes other than "I really liked it"
Good, but not my personal favorite. It did feel very heartfelt, and it is definitely well-made
I like the grunginess but the album at large didn't really wow me
Generally enjoyable, but I think I like the adaptations they make to their later music better
Not bad, but kinda sleepy. Not my favorite
Super enjoyable. Starts off almost rock-opera-y in a way I really enjoyed, and the piano is wonderful throughout. Gray Seal was my favorite of those I hadn't heard ebfore
Generally likeable album. I love the titular track, and was a little sad that nothing else held a candle to it, but I did like the whole thing
Not at all what I was expecting. Varied and experimental. Felt like listening to a soundtrack to a movie. Liked some parts better than others but overall a good experience
All around a great mix of music. Love the variation. Favorite might be Golden Slumbers
Very dreamlike, in a number of different ways. Not my favorite overall (i think the minimalism just doesn't catch me), but an intriguing album
