The album was surprisingly emotional, but no song grabbed me. The lyrics were dark and introspective whilst the music was light, smooth, and jazzy - the contrast was interesting!
I enjoyed this album; great light rock sound, and an interesting variety of songs. Couple of songs I really like were “Finest Worksong” and “Exhuming McCarthy”. Classics on this album too.
Couldn’t get into the album, though I understand why he was such a charismatic star of his time. His vocal style just wasn’t for me.
I enjoyed this album, it reminded me of Jack White but more voluminous and detailed
Great album, a classic. Hard to know if I liked it so much already because of years of familiarity or if it is that great an album. “Oh Darling” is perhaps my favourite Beatle song.
Not a big fan of the unrefined sound. Songs sounded the same and there was too much instrumentation.
I enjoyed the songs War Pigs and Hand of Doom. Classic goth rock sounds to my ear, but what do I know! I enjoyed the listen through but wouldn’t necessarily listen to the whole album again.
Album wasn’t for me, but I can see how someone who is in to R’n’B would enjoy it. Not bad!
I liked the feel of the album, but nothing really grabbed my attention. Some of the instrumental pieces I really enjoyed.

The album had a good sound, but most songs blended into one another for me.
I can see Kendrick’s appeal, but I found the message of the album mostly lost on me. I did appreciate the stories of his life and that of the disadvantaged youth experienced growing up with drugs and crime. No subtlety to it, but good beats. I like one or two songs and would listen again e.g. m.A.A.d city and swimming pools. I kind of liked Backstreet Freestyle too
I enjoyed the lightness of this album, and the wistful notes about love. Lots of easy listening songs, and a few hits.
I found the album a bit too heavy for me I think, which surprised me. Maybe I don’t feel the same level of agression / angst that I might have had a as a teenager - but even then, I don’t think it would have been for me. Bar “In The End” nothing stuck with me. The sound was like Papa Roach crossed with Evanescence.
Didn’t really tickle my fancy, and I preferred their album “Paranoid”. I liked N.I.B, but felt that songs blended together on the album overall.
Didn’t like it, just not my kind of music at all. Maybe one song I kind of like (“Human NRG”)
It was fine, just fine.
Nice easy listening music. Unfortunately I couldn’t understand the language which made it harder to relate too.
An excellent album, I really enjoyed so much of this easy to listen to but emotive album. I hadn’t heard Carole King before, but knew some of the hits from the album - but the overall album was great!
Just fine, nothing really stuck with me.
I don’t know why but this album surprised me! I enjoyed the rough, grungey, poor vocals, mashed with the background riffs - I enjoyed this!
Wasn’t for me, but not a bad album overall.
Hip hop, hippity hop! Fun, but not for me. Not a bad album by any means though.
Not a fan, which surprised me. His voice annoyed me, but the mouth organ really bugged me. All the songs sounded the same to my ear.
Melancholic and easy listening, didn’t really catch my attention. Ok listening.
Not much to say, a decent album without anything that stood out to me.
Couple of songs I liked, decent over all sound.
