Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple

My initial impression was Morrisett in 2020. The notes are held too long in the first track and the noises/babble were too much. The rest of the album sounds like she just wanted to get a record out. Needs a lot more polish. The picture on the cover looks like Fiona is listening to her own songs from this album, I’ve never been a Fiona Apple fan and this may be why.

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Jul 01 2024

Obv 60s music. Hammond organ. Recording is actually pretty good and instruments are clear.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Jul 02 2024

A classic record. Great recording. I’m not a big fan of Shine on You Crazy Diamond, but the other tracks are to my liking.

Modern Kosmology by Jane Weaver
Jul 03 2024

Didn’t like how it started, but definitely improved. Good sound and well orchestrated synthesizers.

Odessa by Bee Gees
Jul 04 2024

Definitely older BeeGees. Not a disco album. Recording quite good. Too long. Did not finish both discs.

Picture Book by Simply Red
Jul 05 2024

Excellent vocals. Phenomenal saxophone work. Great compositions and a great recording make this a very listenable album. Standouts are the title track and Holding back the Years.

Back In Black by AC/DC
Jul 09 2024

One of the classic rock albums. The bells sound so good in Hell”s Bells. On to the back side and Back in Black and You Shook Me All Night Long. All songs for the ages and a great quality recording to boot. In particular, Back in Black sounds fresh even by today standards.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Jul 10 2024

What’s to say that hasn’t been said in the last 56 years about this album? It’s a period piece. All of it. Then thereis the magnum opus at just over 17 minutes. An eternity when compared to the average song today. It’s a dirge. A minor chord dirge, but it’s the dirge we have and somehow we love it. It’s like that old crispy uncle who repeats the same old stories over and over and over, but he still gets invited to all the family events. We tolerate him like we tolerate In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Jul 12 2024

Meh. Don’t know how to describe it, but don’t like it.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Jul 15 2024

The first combination of heavy metal and wrap. A very interesting sound. Great musicianship. Definitely need to listen to it again sometime.

Jul 16 2024

Great debut album. A fresh sound with a delightful voice from Lauren Mayberry. The song writing is good and the melodies are catchy. Really enjoyed this disc. The Mother We Share and Science/Visions are the standout tracks. Worth another listen.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jul 17 2024

Wow. This is a great sounding album. Never listened to it before, but I really like some of the tracks I’ve never heard. (The only song I knew was Changes.)

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Jul 19 2024

Drivel

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Jul 22 2024

It’s just meh. All sounds the same. May have been relevant to someone in 1992, but it wasn’t to me. Drones on and on and open and… Tomorrow was the standout track for me. Rocks. I think it’s his voice I quickly tire of. Pretentious.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Jul 24 2024

Understand the significance of, but I listened all the way through and still don’t get it.

Elastica by Elastica
Jul 26 2024

Love the guitarist’s edgy sound on his guitar and unique riffs. I’ve always liked the singers’s voice and vocal style. A lot of mid90s Alternative. Good sound. Gotta like it.

Remedy by Basement Jaxx
Jul 30 2024

I can’t believe this appeared on a list for me. Just a lot of what made Disco insufferable. This album is definitely insufferable.

Doolittle by Pixies
Jul 31 2024

Good sound, but not my type of music.

Wild Gift by X
Aug 01 2024

Another early 80’s punk/alternative album. Meh. Definitely did not need to hear this album before I die.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Aug 02 2024

I hate the Doors. Jim Morrison was a horrible vocalist.

Leftism by Leftfield
Aug 05 2024

Mid 90s dance/house tracks. Good sound. Like the mix of tribal instruments and voices with Electronica
