Definitely not my favorite era of Hip-Hop but this album has some absolute classics. It's Tricky, My Adidas, Walk This Way, Hit It Run, Raising Hell, and You Be Illin' are all great. The instrumentation of the whole album is pretty special and feels revolutionary for the time especially when they implement heavier sounds and guitars. The lyrics are interesting but when listening through as a complete album, I got a little board with the cadence and lyrics that didn't (to me) say anything profound. Fully aware that this isn't an album written for me but there is a lot of modern Hip-Hop that hits me on a deeper level because the lyrics aren't just clever, they are smart and challenging.
