Coincidence of a Joe Scarborough assessment on the TV / Atlantic this morning. Made an album as good as the Beatles - says Joe and I would agree.

Not a album a knew well. Even the singles have not aged well. Part of the BritPop thing - Cockers lyrics now seem weird and kinda pervy in places.

Wonderful album - you can hear the influences to White Stripes and Black Keys etc. Totally new to me

Not their greatest album. - see Damn The Torpedoes - but damn fine for a debut. Breakdown and American Girl - absolute classics.
