Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Sep 10 2024

I saw Isaac Hayes a few years ago when he was touring his jazz album. When I called for Tickets, the ticketing agent specifically said \"Mr. Hayes wants everybody to know that this is going to be a strictly jazz show.\" At the end of the show, somebody was screaming out, \"hot buttered soul\" during the encore. They left disappointed.

Revolver by Beatles

Hard to tell if the remix/remaster changes what the original vision of the band and Martin et al without as much familiarity with the original vinyl release.

Da Capo by Love

I don't understand. Elements of this record sound as though they could have been recorded last year. Others clearly place it in the 60s. The musical ideas must have been unheard of at the time.

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
Sep 19 2024

I had to stop at about 3/4 of the way through. I couldn't take it anymore. Block rocking beats is a banger, but a lot of the rest of it was pretty intolerable.
