1001 Albums Summary

Some songs I really enjoyed. Others were just too much noise and sound.

Love Closer. Not a huge fan of the rest. Not into screaming and chaotic noises

I don’t understand jazz I guess. It’s fine. I’m sure in a historical context I would be more impressed. It’s not as jarring as other jazz I’ve listened to. Not my jam.

Love this album. Every song is a hit for me. Forgot how much I love early U2.

I somehow was unfamiliar with Herbie Hancock. I don’t typically like jazz but I was pleasantly surprised. I found this very fun to listen to - especially the first song, Chameleon. It didn’t feel like the typical jazz chaos I’m used to?

I don’t think I’ve really listened to much of her music but I really enjoyed this. Coyote was great

What a dorky album cover - such a different time. Not exactly lyrical masterpieces - she’s my girl and I’m good to my baby. Ugh the patriarchy. So many gross yet childishly simplistic lyrics. I do like their voices? But unfortunately I paid attention to the words.

I really enjoyed this and wasn’t familiar with Pulp before. Liked the overall sound of sort of pop indie rock with some depth.

Great album, great voice, lots of excellent hits - I feel the earth move, you make me feel like a natural woman, will you love me tomorrow.

Always been a fan of R.E.M. and The One I Love and It’s The End Of The World As We Know It are classics. Not sure I’ve listened to this whole album before, but I also think it has a good variety of sound.

I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard any of their songs except Red Red Wine and I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I’m not the biggest reggae fan but this was a nice easy listen, though the songs feel very similar. Mostly felt like music I’d just have on in the background to mellow out to.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Very different vibe than today’s country music. Enjoyed his voice and the more direct storytelling style, even if the stories were mostly about people he needs to shoot.

Great album with lots of hits. Also discovered May This Be Love, which was a fave of mine. Loved the variety of songs too.

A few really great songs on here - Dirty Diana, Smooth Criminal, The Way You Make Me Feel. But some of the others just feel pretty uninteresting to me. Plus the questionable at best artist. Sigh.

Loved Four Women - the end is almost haunting. Overall really enjoyed this one. Incredibly soulful and melancholic and such a unique voice.
