Lyrics: 1/5 Music: 2/5 Production: 2/5 Cohesiveness: 3/5 Overall: 2/5 Stand out songs: Intro Crystallised Fits the moody teenager vibe that we all quickly grow out of Some very clean bass and guitar lines against some remotely interesting electronic drums. Lyrics weren’t great but I get that that’s not the main focus of the music. All stays at the same level for me, never gets great never gets terrible, never really picks up out of the lazy strolling (I get it’s supposed to be) and becomes, dare I say, boring after a while. Makes a change to hear some space in music these days and I’m all for that, but let’s fill in that space sometimes Not a massive fan of the singers voice. Again, I get it, but it doesn’t do it for me . I’m sure I’ll say this a lot with this generator but if this is in the top 1001 albums list I’d really have to ask why? It’s a very average album that deserves praise in some areas but it’s not pushing any boundaries, stays very safe throughout and doesn’t offer any real emotions

It all just feels very high school band. Lyrics are very poor. Kurt’s voice does have the right level of raspiness to it in some songs which adds a good texture to the songs. The fact that this has such a high rating makes me feel like I’m missing something. But I don’t think I want to find whatever it is I’m missing. I’m happy not really enjoying this album

I’m going to go with a low 4 Starts off very strong with like a rolling stone. Everything in that song is amazing there’s no denying it. The lyrics with Dylan’s style of singing is more like a spoken poem over some solid blues music - but that’s to be expected. Some songs definitely go on a bit longer than would be ideal. I agree that Bob Dylan’s voice is not the best in some other albums, but I feel his voice sounds great for this style in a lot of the songs, especially on ‘it takes a lot’. There’s a few weaker songs filling in gaps around really really good songs.

They all sit well in their own space in the mix and blend around each other so well. Some parts seem drawn out but at the same time I like the slow build up of the songs and the space and atmosphere created. However after many long songs it does get quite slightly boring. I am however reminded of my belief that the Cures only good album is their greatest hits album. There’s a lot of meh in amongst the great Lullaby is an incredible song.
