Lowkey vibes, great for rainy Saturday afternoon. Highlight tracks were โRememberโ, โCe matin-lร โ.
Unexpectedly loved this. Not a huge hip-hop listener (mostly just lack of knowledge more than anything). I lived in Chicago when Chance the Rapperโs โColoring Bookโ came out in 2016, and the album felt like it was everywhere. I knew Kanye was a key collaborator, but it was even cooler to listen to this album and here the original ideas that came to later influence Chanceโthe melodic qualities, chipmunk-y sound, etc. Listening brought me back home to Chicago.
90s must have been a weird time to be British.
Duality: I can both appreciate Buddy Holly and his significant role in the evolution of modern popular music, and also hate listening to this album.
First time Iโve ever intentionally hit the play button on a metal album. Didnโt hate it, didnโt love it. Some of the drum breaks were cool (like in Rat Salad). My college roommate used to listen to heavy metal while he straightened his hair in the mornings. So I guess at least this brought back a memory?
Loved it, so many bops. Mama Said is a fav.
Janis is a kween that VOICE ๐ฆ
What a vibe 5/5 will be listening again
Deez nuts 5/5
This one is a big olโ snooze festival, though the energy did pick up as the album progressed. Thereโs something very lonely about the sound of this music that I donโt enjoy? I would have to be in a highly specific mood.
Straight bangers 5/5

Bored to tears
Incredible voice, loved this!

Like Shostakovich but with vocals, what a strange and fun listen.
Very David Byrne/Talking Heads. Great listen.
