Interesting at times, with a few highlights, moments in songs that stand out, like in On the Strip. Some good songs, most notably Sugar Kane, but too nervous and incoherent in the end. Interesting all in all, but did sort of struggle to make it to the end of the album.
Never heard of this band, a surprisingly fun and interesting album. Whiskey Woman stood out, for the rest it is more of a good listen in general, no particular highlights. Probably 3.5, but a pleasant surprise, so let's go for 4.
Interesting, a classic. Of course I wanna be your dog and especially No Fun are good songs, the start of punk, in a way, even if it is a little slow. Ann is interesting in itself, sort of doomsday love song. We will fall is endless, but not in a good way, monotonous, out of place in my eyes. All in all a classic album, but not one to play on repeat. 3.5
No. I know you are supposed to listen the whole album, but only managed three and a bit. Full of self-inflation and -importance, wannabe deep and thoughtful, in all the wrong ways, for me.
I guess I am one of those Radiohead fans who actually has a very limited knowledge of most of their albums, including thuis one. It was an interesting listen, I hesitated between 3 and 4, but a 4 is is, one can appreciate what the band is doing here, and some very interesting songs here, even if it is far from easy listening. I liked National Anthem, Optimistic and Morning Bell best. Some of the acclaimed songs like How to disappear completely are too vague for me, but that might change achter relistening.
Seems like an early post punk album. Bit over the top with the drama at points, lyrics and voice , but overall an interesting album with a nice sortof subdued drama and hint of madness.
I am sure this is a classic in it's own right, but I took three things from listening: 1. Prince is afraid he 's gonna die soon. 2. He is very, very, horny. 3. He is determined to resolve nr. 2 before nr. 1 occurs. Although I fully understand the sentiment, I don't think I will be listening to him telling about it again
Definitely not my music normally, but found it interesting nonetheless; more so than expected. Some of the chansons feel cliche, but liked Le Plat Pays en Amsterdam.
Profoundly boring and inspiring. The opening song is remotely interesting, it goes downhill fast after that. It sounds like something Rick created, Neil is into and Vyvyan rightly trashes. 90s music in all the wrong ways.
It sounded like the soundtrack of an absurdistic musical or film. I kinda liked two dancers i (the song) and through the Iron Gate, and there were a few interesting lines in the songs I guess. To far out for me though, and I found the 'falsetto' vocals to be distracting mainly.
For a synthesiser focused album I enjoyed this more than I would have thought. Great start of the album we with Zero and Heads Will Roll. Also liked Dull Life. The other songs sort of faded to the background of my mind, not unpleasant (except for Dragon Queen) but drifted away a bit.
A classic, good musicians, interesting songs at times. But I can't shake the feeling of listening to dinner music, during a Spanish holiday. Says more about my limited musical knowledge and views, and less about the Buena Vista Social Club probably, but there you have it.
