Simple yet poetic lyrics carried by Cash's baritone voice makes a real treat for the inmates at San Quentin Prison. The crowd's cheers shows life in the hearts of the imprisoned, a small reprieve from the terrible life in prison.
Cash's voice still has that pull despite the old age. Well-produced, and has some of his many well-known songs. Songs that you could sit on a lonely day and listen.
Not good. So much reverb!
Super exciting to listen from start to finish! Part of the excellent albums Iron Maiden released in the 80s. Heavy metal isn't the same without the 3 fantastic singles on this album.
The sheer number of songs on this album makes it a long listen, but most Beatles songs are under the 3 minute mark. The album is a bit of a hodge podge thematically. They should've given George and Ringo more writing opportunities, some of the best songs on this album were written by them, and some of the worst by Lennon-McCartney (apart from the most famous singles). The stories about the making of this album is fantastic, stories about Rishikesh and the eventual dissolution of the band. All in all, a very good album.
